Since 1994, the average Canadian's literacy skills have not improved significantly (compare to IALS statistics below). It is never too late to learn. If you know an adult who needs help, tell that person about us. Our program is for English-speaking adults who are 19 years old or older and out of full-time school. Students work on basic reading, writing and math skills (approximately grade 1 – grade 5 level) and computer skills. Students set their own personal goals. I want to work on my basic reading and writing skills. What should I do? 3 You will be matched with a tutor and/or join a small class. I got a job!

What do we do? We are a non-profit, community-based organization that provides basic (grade 1 - 5 equivalent) training in reading, writing, and math to English-speaking adults. Our service is free, private, and one-to-one. We have been assisting adults with their literacy skills since 1973. How do we do it? We train volunteers to provide one-to-one tutoring to adults aged 19 and over. We also run four small group classes three times a week. Teamwork - Together everyone achieves more. How can you help?
