The Charred Underbelly of the Pechka. Notes and thoughts from Kazakhstan, Mexico, and Medical School. Monthly Archives: October 2013. 3rd Week of October. October 19, 2013. Last Friday night, I stumbled into my apartment sweaty, tired, and mostly sober from the bus ride home from a downtown bar. Actually it was an old American Legion that moonlights as a music venue. It was the first time … Continue reading →. Subway Brutality and Supermarket Friendship. October 10, 2013. Smog and the City.

The Charred Underbelly of the Pechka. Notes and thoughts from Kazakhstan, Mexico, and Medical School. August 21, 2016. When I left the hospital today, tall black storm clouds framed the Minneapolis skyline, perfect running weather. Early this week when I went running with similarly threatening skies, the rumbling thunder gave way to sheets of rain and marble sized … Continue reading →. August 10, 2016. The Charred Underbelly of the Pechka. Notes and thoughts from Kazakhstan, Mexico, and Medical School. Monthly Archives: August 2011. Time to think about things. August 31, 2011. As I looked down at my sore hands, I realized they were slightly swollen and purple from boxing. I was sitting with my temporary host family around our enormous dining room table, and we were all holding our hands in … Continue reading →. August 18, 2011. Broments and Beautiful Things. The Charred Underbelly of the Pechka. Notes and thoughts from Kazakhstan, Mexico, and Medical School. Subway Brutality and Supermarket Friendship. It’s good to write again →. 3rd Week of October. October 19, 2013. And just when I was getting into it I got a text that our ride was outside. Barring actions which humanity has for centuries held as violations of what it means to be a person, withholding judgment as much as possible seems to be much more rational. The Charred Underbelly of the Pechka. Notes and thoughts from Kazakhstan, Mexico, and Medical School. The Bitter Taste of Joy. August 29, 2013. Today was a good day, I woke up ran to a park, did pull-ups next to a reticent man wearing weightlifting gloves, got home, listened to The Moth, showered, had breakfast, finished my work, and spent the rest of the afternoon cooking and talking with the housekeeper. I’ve learned a lot, maybe even more than I wanted to. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. You a...

The Charred Underbelly of the Pechka | Notes and thoughts from Kazakhstan and Mexico
The Charred Underbelly of the Pechka. Notes and thoughts from Kazakhstan and Mexico. 3rd Week of October. October 19, 2013. And just when I was getting into it I got a text that our ride was outside. I’ve noticed lately how people congregate and talk to people of similar social standing, class, education etc, and that for the same reasons some people’s words and conversation are given more or less weight than others. Colorado College Outdoor Education | Adventure, Leadership, Challenge, and Service
Colorado College Outdoor Education. Adventure, Leadership, Challenge, and Service. A Great Weekend of Leader Training! November 21, 2012. I do not believe that I could have found a more productive way to spend last weekend than attending the Leader Level I training that the ORC hosted. First off, it not only encouraged me to get an early start to the weekend days, but upon completion of Level I training, many doors opened for potential leadership experiences with the ORC a fun weekend, and well worth it.
