Sharanpal Ruprai earned a Ph.D. from the Department of Humanities at York University, Ontario, Canada. She holds a Masters degree in English from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Winnipeg. Seva is Sharanpal Ruprai’s debut poetry collection. It is a poetic journey into the life of a Sikh girl; the narrative, through unique perspectives about culture, gender and ritual, enters a world that is usually inaccessible.
