There and Back Again: May 2014
http://cdicill1.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
There and Back Again. Sunday, May 25, 2014. Roses, Janggu Story, Birthdays and Masks! The heat is here. Damn, it's gonna be a loooooooong, hot summer. On the plus side, that means the roses are blooming nicely! I don't know why, but roses are a big deal in Korea. Apparently May 19th is like a coming of age day in Korea for 20 year olds, so lots of young people had flowers and roses? I dunno, just something I saw on facebook from my Korean friends. It's just nice to see them all the time. This ahjumma was...
There and Back Again: March 2014
http://cdicill1.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
There and Back Again. Sunday, March 30, 2014. Well, I've packed away my winter coats and Heattech clothes. I've stopped wearing 5 layers to school and to bed. It's stayed consistently above freezing. That's right! Spring has arrived in Seoul! This is like 90% wonderful and 10% awful. I shall explain why soon. Here's an update of my week. My mom sent me Reese's cups and they are. On Tuesday, we went out for Indian food. This is garlic naan and it was glorious. LOL one of my kids left their notebook in the.
There and Back Again: Rainy Hikes and Rainbow Fish!
http://cdicill1.blogspot.com/2015/05/rainy-hikes-and-rainbow-fish.html
There and Back Again. Wednesday, May 6, 2015. Rainy Hikes and Rainbow Fish! I know this update is late, but I had a long weekend and used it to do fun things, and therefore didn't have a ton of time to blog. May is a busy month at school, but we also have lots of time off. Sweet notes like this make my day. On Friday, my friends and I had labor day off, so we headed to the Han River to hang out and relax in the beautiful weather, since in a few weeks it will be so humid and hot that I will melt. Because ...
There and Back Again: December 2014
http://cdicill1.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
There and Back Again. Tuesday, December 30, 2014. Merry Christmas and "Letters to Santa, the Best of" Edition. I'm a polar bear. Ack I'm getting so slow at this blogging thing. It was a pretty normal week for me, besides the random Christmas break in there. And by Christmas break, I mean that we literally only had a break on Christmas, and then I had to go back to work for one day. Wamp. Definitely doesn't feel the same over here during the holidays. Mom posted this picture and it was too. Anyway, for my...
There and Back Again: Kickball and Cards. Happy Teacher's Day!
http://cdicill1.blogspot.com/2015/05/kickball-and-cards-happy-teachers-day.html
There and Back Again. Sunday, May 17, 2015. Kickball and Cards. Happy Teacher's Day! This week was another fun but particularly tiring week. It didn't start out especially crazy, but I had been informed that on Wednesday, I would have to join my fellow teachers in kickball "tryouts." Apparently, ever year or 2 years, there is a kickball tournament between schools, and all of the teachers play. So, on Wednesday, we had to practice to see who would make the team. What's watered down kickall? I should crack...

Girl in Granada: January 2012
http://thegirlingranada.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 27, 2012. I was in the last boarding group and all the stupid business passengers took all the overhead space with their 2 carryons plus personal item. By lunch I felt spectacular again, and was excited to see that the hotel had glass bottles of soda instead of cans or plastic. I kept the caps. After lunch the buses started arriving to take us to Granada. It was a gorgeous ride, through mountains and olive… well, I’m not sure what it’s called… olive plantations? Tuesday, January 3, 2012.

That's What She Said: October 2013
http://elizabethschwartzer.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
That's What She Said. Wednesday, October 30, 2013. First Snow of the Season. Right now, I'm looking out my window at a blue sky, with nary a cloud in sight. This wasn't the case about 2 hours ago. It was cold, cloudy, and little fluffy white things were falling from the sky. Snow! You have to understand, I love. Snow Like, it's the most beautiful thing I've ever ever seen and I wish it snowed for more than 3 months of the year. All I need is winter, summer, and a few weeks of fall, right? This weekend, w...
Full Frontal Nerdity: DIY-ing
http://andreawysong.blogspot.com/2014/05/diy-ing.html
Stories, thoughts, and other stuff in the life of Andrea Wysong. Saturday, May 24, 2014. I decided awhile back that I wanted a filing cabinet to put all of my school work and important documents. I went to Walmart, and a small, 2 drawer cabinet was $50. NO THANK YOU WALMART. I settled on an ugly plastic box with a rail inside to hold hanging folders. It was only $10. AND IT'S SO PRETTY NOW! So I returned the ugly box to Walmart and saved myself $10. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Tri for the Y.

Stories, thoughts, and other stuff in the life of Andrea Wysong. Sunday, November 23, 2014. September through Thanksgiving in one fun post! So, grad school AMIRIGHT? Where to start. Well, at first, I didn't think grad school was very hard. It was probably 3 or 4 weeks into the semester before I really started getting pummeled with work. I was disappointed about that false sense of security I was lulled into. The hiking here is great, obviously. Rob and I wanted to climb a 14,000 foot mountain this br...

Thursday, March 29, 2012. In the meantime, here's a picture of my EU class. Our prof wanted a group picture with us, so without further ado. Wednesday, March 28, 2012. Pre- Semana Santa Update. I know, I know. I'll post about Morocco too, but I wanted to write this while I remember. Also, if you haven't seen my last post about Gibraltar, read it. I'm posting them back to back, so you might not have seen it. Anyways, today is Wednesday, and in 2 days I'm starting my spring break! And The Lion Kind. A few ...

Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Things I've learned on study abroad. First off, here is the promised facebook link. For the Cabo de Gata album. 1 Weather is fickle. This seems basic, even stupid. But you haven't been miserable until you've stood in freezing weather or rain without the proper gear. Always pack your sunglasses, umbrella, and layers. Even if you think you they're unnecessary, there's always that freak rainstorm or hot day. 6 Drink water when it's available and pee when you can. Sometimes, you're...

That's What She Said: August 2014
http://elizabethschwartzer.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
That's What She Said. Thursday, August 28, 2014. This summer, I've spent a lot of time thinking about getting a tablet. I've wanted one for a while now and finally decided to splurge. After a decent amount of research, and the soul crushing realization that no tablet within my price range would do absolutely everything that I wish it would and still come with a cute case, cover, or keyboard, I made a decision. If anyone has any recommendations for fun or useful apps, please let me know. This summer went ...

That Time In Korea. That Time When I Went to the Daejeon Food and Wine Festival. October 10, 2013. So this past weekend, I had a social life! Annual Food and Wine Festival. Now the pros of this festival: it’s on my side of the river (score! It has a huge array of international foods to buy, and there is unlimited wine tasting. If you bring a glass, the tasting is free. To buy a glass is 3,000 won or $3. Mom and Beth, you would have loved this place! Some routines were funny, others were jaw-dropping-ly f...

There and Back Again
There and Back Again. Thursday, September 8, 2016. Was It Just A Dream? Home after 3 years in Korea. I've been home for a week. that's crazy! Actually, it's not really. It feels kind of like I never left, with the exception of a few new restaurants around, but nothing really huge changed. The Super Walmart was finally built, which is a big deal for my hometown, but other that. it feels like the last 3 years were some sort of dream. Did they really happen? Getting it all packed was really stressful. She s...
