Elliottish: March 2010
http://elliottish.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Thoughts on Life, Happiness, Faith, and Family. Sunday, March 28, 2010. Time It never seems like there is enough of it. We can easily be overwhelmed by competing responsibilities, never ending appointments, and long to-do lists. It’s easy to feel like we don’t have time for two critical priorities in our lives: God and family. Saturday, March 27, 2010. NYC and the Bronx. I had an opportunity to work in the Bronx for a week with a Head Start program. Joani and I cashed in some frequent flier miles and...

Elliottish: Texas Wintergarden Area
http://elliottish.blogspot.com/2010/11/texas-wintergarden-area.html
Thoughts on Life, Happiness, Faith, and Family. Monday, November 15, 2010. I spent a week in Uvalde and Crystal City, Texas completing a GPS assessment on the Head Start program there, and their two delegate agencies that are local school districts. This is the third year that I have visited this area, which has its own charm. I enjoyed visiting the staff from the two school districts that I have worked with in the past. Elliottish: Personal Mission Statement
http://elliottish.blogspot.com/2010/11/personal-mission-statement.html
Thoughts on Life, Happiness, Faith, and Family. Saturday, November 13, 2010. In attending training for "7 Habits of Highly Effective People" in Denver in September 2010, I decided to revise my own personal mission statement (which I had created several years earlier). The symbol of shoes reminds me of something that was said of Spencer W. Kimball, who served as the President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints:. I hope to live my life in that way. Elliottish: May 2010
http://elliottish.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Thoughts on Life, Happiness, Faith, and Family. Sunday, May 30, 2010. San Juan in May. In the last five years I have spent a lot of time in Puerto Rico, working with four separate Head Start/Early Head Start programs on the island. I counted the number of trips I've made there and this trip in May was number 19. Amazing! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Elliottish: Paris and London
http://elliottish.blogspot.com/2010/11/paris-and-london.html
Thoughts on Life, Happiness, Faith, and Family. Tuesday, November 9, 2010. Joani and I fulfilled a dream with our trip to Paris and London. We loved our four days in Paris and three days in London. Paris is everything they say it is, with it's beauty on every street. London felt like coming home after being in France, and I felt a connection to London that I didn't realize I would feel. Elliottish: February 2010
http://elliottish.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Thoughts on Life, Happiness, Faith, and Family. Friday, February 19, 2010. Record snow hit the east coast during the week I was in Philadelphia. The city had 26 inches fall in one day, and in a five day period experienced double their annual snow fall. The city shut down all city offices, public transportation was cut back and schools were closed. Mayor Nutter (yes, that is the Philadelphia mayor’s name) asked everyone to stay off of the streets. Elliottish: Waiting for Marshmallows
http://elliottish.blogspot.com/2010/11/waiting-for-marshmallows.html
Thoughts on Life, Happiness, Faith, and Family. Tuesday, November 16, 2010. I like this video from President Dieter F. Utchdorf that discusses patience, not just because I really like marshmallows, but it makes me remember times in my own life where I had to "wait on the Lord" for certain blessings. I hope I can be one of the 30% that can wait for the second marshmallow. Http:/ www.youtube.com/watch? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Walking Through the Door.

Elliottish: August 2010
http://elliottish.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Thoughts on Life, Happiness, Faith, and Family. Saturday, August 21, 2010. Grattitude By The Numbers. 8220;We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.”. This is the proverbial "glass is half full" argument. But it's true. When we focus on our appreciation of what we have in our lives, instead of the longing for what we do not have, our whole outlook changes. 2: The number of cars we have that run.
