Journey to Bionic Hearing. The Why of this blog…. I am going to try to write down examples of what I can/can’t hear just to record pre-implant experiences. I have trouble locating sounds. For example, when I am waiting for the elevator, I can hear the ding…but never know which elevator it’s coming from…so if there are 3 on one side and 3 on the other, I almost always spin a 360 in order to find the one that will be opening soon. I will often walk away and not realize that someone is still talking to me.

At same pitching lesson, I could hear the pop of the ball hitting glove;. Heard the house phone ring from BEHIND me…although it was a black/white shrill sound;. My Cochlear Implant Journey. A blog entailing a deaf user going through the Cochlear Implant Journey. It's now two years since I have been implanted. Can't believe that it's been this long, it was only a while ago that I remember going to the hospital for the operation and coming round from it quite groggy from the anaesthetic. External processors are changing in this fast moving technological times all the time whereas the internal implant stays the same. My Cochlear Implant Journey. A deaf dude's life.
