About Kathryn, etc. Monday, May 11, 2015. Being a mother is hard. These past two weeks have been difficult for many reasons. Hudson is a fiesty, determined two-year-old who has a very strong will. He has been testing that will on Chance and I more than ever lately. The other day in the van he pushed me away and said, "No, Mommy! In John 13, Jesus demonstrates selfless service toward the disciples. Before the Passover meal Jesus takes off his robe and begins to wash their feet. Feet, but can you imagine.

About Kathryn, etc. Thursday, December 19, 2013. Race Recap - Texas Whine Not Another Marathon. As the days dwindled down to race time, I began to get really nervous. After all, I had completed some pretty unconventional. The night before the race, Chance and I were in the kitchen talking. I asked him, "So, how do you think I'm going to do tomorrow? I didn't sleep well the night before (big surprise! Raised their hands. This was it, no backing out now! The sun started to come up just after 7:00, and it t...

Bought with a Price: He Gives and Takes Away
http://waldemarfamily.blogspot.com/2009/02/he-gives-and-takes-away.html
Bought with a Price. Friday, February 6, 2009. He Gives and Takes Away. As many of you know, we've been praying about a new family vehicle. The van we were driving was not roadworthy yet we continued to drive it out of necessity - only on local streets - never the highway. Recently one of our supporters sent us a generous check towards a more reliable (and safe! Three days after buying the new van, I was rejoicing in the fact that we now had 2 vehicles. We were living high on the hog! Hi colleagues, fast...

The Puebla Ponderosa: Loneliness Cries Out!
http://thepueblaponderosa.blogspot.com/2015/07/loneliness-cries-out.html
Monday, July 27, 2015. I think one of the worst pains to a parent's heart is knowing your child is hurting and in pain themselves. We want to fix things so they don't have to feel that emptiness or loneliness. We want to fill their hearts with love and if we know that love won't fill it we give them things to make them smile. But eventually, the pain comes back. Her love languages is obviously anything animal related.) Tears flowed hard! It is so so hard to see. My prayer is that through these losses she...

The Puebla Ponderosa: The Good, The Bad, and the Grace of God
http://thepueblaponderosa.blogspot.com/2015/06/the-good-bad-and-grace-of-god.html
Monday, June 22, 2015. The Good, The Bad, and the Grace of God. All too familiar is the scenario of getting "hooked" into a reality T.V. show. And once you get there it is difficult to see those characters through the lens of true reality. Thank you, Jep and Jessica, for being transparent and honest and truly seeing the reality of your lives. Note: I received a free copy of this book as part of the Booklook Bloggers Network. The Puebla Ponderosa: God is the Color of Water
http://thepueblaponderosa.blogspot.com/2015/06/god-is-color-of-water.html
Saturday, June 27, 2015. God is the Color of Water. Almost two weeks an event happened in America that has affected, in a small way, our lives here on the Ponderosa. So much has happened in the world around us. I have waited to write about it until I felt timing was right. They looked at the TV wide-eyed and then looked at me. As I pondered the event from two weeks ago, I reminded myself of these things. I love my children so hard. They are born of my heart. I love their different shades....We are a fami...

The Puebla Ponderosa: Kindness Looks Like.....
http://thepueblaponderosa.blogspot.com/2015/06/kindness-looks-like.html
Thursday, June 18, 2015. A life noted by kindness. That's what a woman in the book of Acts is known for. There was a believer in Joppa named Tabitha (which in Greek is Dorcas ). She was always doing kind things for others and helping the poor. And our families are the ones who get the short end of the stick so often. I mean, isn't it easier to offer kindness in words or deeds to those who will praise you or reward you somehow? And yet, the kindness of God is what leads us to repentance. At other times it...
