Bugs, sweat and tears. We have big dreams of a retreat in cottage country. We have the land. now what? Sunday, November 18, 2012. There is something special about cottage shoes. They are usually well worn in shoes - often with holes here and there, and super comfy. Recently we found a row of cottage shoe trees near Pickerel Lake in the Almaguin Highlands. Runners, sandals, boots, water shoes and slippers covering tree upon tree. Some are obviously newer, while others are covered with moss.

Bugs, sweat and tears. We have big dreams of a retreat in cottage country. We have the land. now what? Sunday, July 13, 2014. We just spent 9 days at the cottage. I honestly don't think I have ever been there that long before! It was really nice to get away for a decent stint of time. The weather - well. not so great - some cooler rainy days, but it really isn't fair to complain after this past winter. The one thing we we discovered is that the property is now a sea of poplar seedlings! Now for a few pics.

Last week we were up at my husbands parents cottage for a week and we were able to trailer their boat over to Lake Cecebe to our property for a day. We were unsure if we were going to get there since the weather had been. well. pathetic. But it cleared on Thursday morning and we were off. This is where we are hoping to build.
