How do I get to Cedar Key? Cedar Key is approximately 50 miles southwest of Gainesville, Florida. Most out-of-state visitors come to Cedar Key from either Tampa International Airport or Orlando International Airport. You can also fly to the Gainesville Airport, though it is a smaller airport and flights tend to be less often than the larger airports.
