August 2, 2013. An overnight camping trip seemed like the perfect way for our family to wrap up our week of memorable activities. As I mentioned in an earlier post, we opted to camp somewhere relatively close to home. I had it on good recommendation that Tinney Flat. Each campsite was surrounded with a natural. Canopy offering a comfortable sense of privacy. I'd definitely say the hiking was scenic. We didn't take gear for fishing, but we did soak our. In the river number of times. That was nice. Our cam...

October 31, 2012. After a quick jump in the shower, it was time to begin preparations for the Park family party that was to be held at Greg and Tilly's that evening. I had to give myself plenty of time to convert Jason into a bald black man with a goatee. His entire transformation process took about 45 minutes. The two of us were laughing through the whole procedure. Because I think our assembled group looked pretty. Nifty, I had to post this picture to my blog again. Of course, we played. No sooner do w...

February 22, 2013. Trail to the Arrow. Our Cub Scout Pack 1476 recently held its annual Blue and Gold Banquet. It was a night of significant advancement for both Brevin and Spencer so we were grateful that Grandma and Grandpa Park were able to attend as well. The evening began with a flag ceremony led by Spencer. Brevin had the honor of being a member of the color-guard and carried our nation's flag. One of the first items on the agenda for the evening was the dinner. Following the conclusion of the meet...

September 29, 2012. I'm shocked at how quickly the portraits in my front room no longer accurately represent the members of my family. My children's pudgy, baby faces are replaced with leaner, wiser ones in a matter of months, and the old photos are only slightly reminiscent of their present day appearance. Seasons change. Faces change. I guess it's as good a time as any to say, "out with the old, and in with the new," right? I'm kind of wishing Garrett and Ella would've choreographed. September 25, 2012.

July 31, 2013. A Day at the Zoo. You would think that a day of hiking to Timpanogos cave would have left us exhausted for the remainder of the week, but after a good night's rest we were geared up and ready for our next family adventure. This time we found ourselves at Utah's Hogle Zoo. It turned out to be a perfect summer vacation activity. Throughout the zoo, there were amazing animal displays made entirely. Out of Legos. This photo-op orangutan picture was one such creation. Posted by Parkside View.

December 25, 2012. Christmas morning came. Brevin and Spencer patiently waited in the basement until Garrett and Ella woke up and everyone could be called into the front room to see what gifts Santa brought. It was close to 8:00 am before the parade of excited children entered the room and were greeted with gifts (and parents "armed" with cameras). Santa honored every request, no matter how strange. Garrett is a "chocoholic." I'm sure it's no secret. Why this stocking stuffer made him happy. Just Dance 4 .

August 8, 2013. What would summer be without a few scout camps, right? Brevin and Jason showed what it took to "be prepared" for Brevin's first overnight scout camp as an eleven year-old scout. Jason went along to help fill a third adult leader position, and the two had a really great time. Upon their arrival home, Brevin was just a few requirements shy from his rank of First Class. That's not too shabby for barely getting started in his boy scout career. This post authored by Amber. August 2, 2013.

April 20, 2013. Jason just "logged" another birthday, bringing his grand total to 38. I don't know if I was not ready to exert the energy to come up with any ideas or if I was just feeling particularly lazy, but leading up to the day, I kept asking him what he. Wanted for his birthday or how he. Wanted to celebrate. He offered very little in the way of party planning suggestions, but he did tell me that he wanted German pancakes with buttermilk syrup for his breakfast. And had a lovely time. I really wis...

January 31, 2013. This Little Light of Mine". Recently, the second grade students at Art City Elementary had a musical presentation celebrating the civil rights movement and historic figures like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, and Jackie Robinson. Spencer had the privilege of being involved in the program. Jason and I had the privilege of witnessing it. Some songs were joyous. Some moments were serious. Some notes were a little harder to reach than others. Some notes were simply hummed. So enter...
