Larksong Writing: March 2012
http://larksongwriting.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 10, 2012. A call to jury duty is an eye-opening experience. This week I was called up to jury duty. I would have to say it was a pretty interesting experience, although I wasn't actually seated on the jury. It was for an infant abuse-homicide case, and it turned out that they had called up about 90 potential jurors in order to seat ten (8 and 2 alternates.) I was in the third group of thirty. This post was originally written and posted by me on my Sparkpeople blog on this same date).

Larksong Writing: September 2012
http://larksongwriting.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 17, 2012. Many gardeners are diligently canning and preserving their labors. Zucchini and summer squash still abound and are being passed off and traded to anyone who is still willing to take them, or they are shredded and frozen for a few more batches of zucchini bread later in the fall when it will be more appreciated. What a wonderful transition from summer to fall. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Lot's of Picky Eaters? View my complete profile. The Illinois State Genealogical Society (I...

Larksong Writing: Poetry Corner
http://larksongwriting.blogspot.com/p/poetry-corner.html
Having spent the day journeying across the Earth. Where it followed the length and breath of the Great Wall,. Scaled the face of Everest,. Scorched anew the Sahara,. Witnessed man once more at war,. Blessed the farmers plowing in the fields. From Asia to Africa to Iowa,. Played in the waves of the Aegean Sea,. Gazed upon the Parthenon,. And turned the faces of the sunflowers and narcissus. Finds here a repose. It looks eastward upon its image. Held in the Hand of God. It warms and awakens,. I am a writer...

Larksong Writing: Pictures I Would Paint If I Could Paint
http://larksongwriting.blogspot.com/2012/02/pictures-i-would-paint-if-i-could-paint.html
Saturday, February 18, 2012. Pictures I Would Paint If I Could Paint. I have two brothers who are trained artists, both of them are very imaginative in their compositions. I also have a lot of admiration for other artists who bring inspiration into my life. One of my favorites is Greg Olsen. These ideas often flash to life instantly in our imaginations- or maybe we absorb them bit by bit as we study the picture in more detail- but they take the artist hours to create. A triptych of the LDS church in East...

Larksong Writing: A wonderful place to live, a wonderful day to be alive
http://larksongwriting.blogspot.com/2012/10/a-wonderful-place-to-live-wonderful-day.html
Monday, October 1, 2012. A wonderful place to live, a wonderful day to be alive. My mother and I had been watching the leaves on the mountain turn for days- a patchwork quilt of scarlets, greens, and golds. This is such a beautiful time of year, but it can be so fleeting. A heavy frost and a stiff wind can end all that glory almost over night- leaving the grey, bare trees of later fall. He wondered, but this day would never had happened if we had planned it. We would have just felt that we were too b...
