The skill of competence. Friday, January 22, 2016. Beautifully crafted piece of writing, by Greg Ashman, illustrating the need for competence through practice. Yes it is interesting that certain parts of the brain are active when performing different activities, but we cannot rewire kids–we need to give them many opportunities to practice and gain immediate feedback on their individual performance. Only then will they have the basic skills on which to base higher thinking skills. Is teaching a profession?
