Re-tale of Retail: Retail Consultant- who the hell is that?
http://retaleofretail.blogspot.com/2009/03/retail-consultant-who-hell-is-that.html
An attempt at telling the story of Retail. Indian Retail. Monday, March 16, 2009. Retail Consultant- who the hell is that? When asked “what do you do? I answer that ‘I am a Retail Consultant’. This nearly always fetches me blank stares till I go further and explain that my line of work involves everything from the retail layout to the communication inside a store. Those who are slightly communication savvy understand this. Those who are not, interpret it as designing Malls and Shops. I have survived twel...

Port Reporter Unlimited: The elusive Dr. Patel
http://portreporterunlimited.blogspot.com/2011/03/elusive-dr-patel.html
Tuesday, March 1, 2011. The elusive Dr. Patel. Well as many - or some - of you know, my mom nearly died several weeks ago. Being me, I have to turn this into a serio-comic blog post. When my mom was admitted to Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester, I think it was Jan. 28, she appeared to be suffering from a GI bleed and possibly pneumonia. As it turned out, they put the drain in the wrong spot, and it was not draining anything. Oh, no, he's gone.". My mother, in a dialysis-crazed and nearly starving* m...

Port Reporter Unlimited: Guess what?
http://portreporterunlimited.blogspot.com/2011/07/guess-what.html
Tuesday, July 5, 2011. Gloucester calls itself "The Port," too! And they want a (controversial) hotel, only not on the water. Aside from also being on the water, that's about where the similarities between Gloucester and Newburyport end. I've been here - and I have cried 96 tears - for, what, 7 months now. I have a lot to say, but I'm saving it for later because it's sooooo hot. Sea breeze, baby, sea breeze! Posted by Gillian Swart. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). PortMedia Schedule: Channel 9. http://portreporterunlimited.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 27, 2010. They're not off the hook, yet! OK, so I heard about this story. Via someone who lives in Rowley, and then we all called it up on an iTouch, and it is all so . er, fishy? The woman in question slugged her chum with. Some chum, apparently, going, as one person put it, "From fishwivery to floundering.". The woman will be appearing in the dock (in maritime court, the same person asked? To answer for slapping her gal pal with a (frozen) piece of fish. Posted by Gillian Swart. Friday, ...

Newburyport Posts: May 2012
http://tomsalemi.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Home of the Fighting Khaki Tide. Thursday, May 31, 2012. Speaking of Mitt Romney. Sycamore Partners, a private equity firm, is buying Talbot's for $369 million, according to a report on Boston.com. No word on whether the soon-to-be private company will retrench and close more stores, including our store on Green Street. But the struggling chain already had closed 90 stories since March 2011. Maybe this deal will reverse things. Posted by Tom Salemi. Odd ending to CVS. Posted by Tom Salemi. I told her I w...

Port Reporter Unlimited: Parking, Malden style
http://portreporterunlimited.blogspot.com/2011/03/parking-malden-style.html
Tuesday, March 1, 2011. Parking, Malden style. Well bless my soul, I can't believe I'm still around . actually, I'm not around Newburyport and likely won't ever be again, but that's another story altogether . So, I'm down here in Malden, where the parking situation is pretty close to what Newburyport officials are proposing (or not proposing): that is, free on-street parking with time limits downtown, one free lot, etc. The only difference is - and forgive me if this is part of the plan - validation.

Port Reporter Unlimited: October 2010
http://portreporterunlimited.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 22, 2010. Be lean, but not necessarily mean. I just got this brief story. Via the Daily Business Update from the Boston Globe . three Maine newspapers are eliminating online reader comments. MaineToday Media CEO Richard Connor said what was aimed as a public forum for civil discourse devolved into "a forum for vile, crude, insensitive, and vicious postings." In his words, "No story subject seems safe from hurtful and vulgar comments.". Posted by Gillian Swart. 1 Comments; Post a comment.
