Last week during our vacation in the mountains we hiked or ran between 10 and 15 kilometers a day, climbing anywhere from 400 to 1500 meters. So I thought it would be interesting to see if that was better race preparation than the meringues and double cream of the two previous weeks! But several factors made. Wednesday evening’s Chavornay race. The third leg of this year’s Tour du Pays de Vaud, difficult to compare to the Penthaz race. If only I had brought home more meringues and double cream!

Christmas Midnight Run 2013. What can I say about this year’s Midnight Run. Not much changes from year. We hung around for nothing. I got my trophy in the mail today. The trophy has changed too. A travers Prilly 2013. I don’t usually have to run tactically. I can size up the field before a local race and know who will finish 2 or 3 minutes ahead of me, and who will finish a few minutes behind me. The Prilly race. Course Pédestre de Renens 2012. Last Saturday I rode my bike over to Renens in the morning to pick up my bib and to sign up M. J. for the 10K. I beat her by 10 seconds! I hadn't planned on this Trophée Lausannois. Event taking up my whole Saturday, but all in all it was good day. Husband was summiting Mont Blanc last Wednesday, so I was on my own for the last leg of the Tour du Pays de Vaud. Last Saturday I rode my bike over to a neighboring village for the annual Foulée de Bussigny. Le blog de RunningMax.

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. Knowing I could just discard them before going home, I packed my old. Worn-out Nikes for this trip to the States to celebrate Son 2's wedding. Over the past week I've run in four different States. Three States on consecutive days, that's something new. For me. Saturday afternoon winter hit. We stayed home to eat our spaghetti instead of going down to Ouchy to share in the pasta party. Sunday morning we woke up to several inches of snow. The temperature was hovering around freezing and the wind was gusting. We felt sorry for all the 10K and marathon runners who were competing in the morning. The children's 2.6K and 4.2K races ended up being cancelled. Husband, in blue, crosses the finish line to the right a few seconds into this clip. And my personal favorite:.

I had hoped to run a race while in Fresno. Today’s half marathon. Seemed to be my only option. But I was deterred by the 7 am start clear across town, the hefty registration fee (the price of new pair of running shoes), nagging lower back pain and a stiff knee, a lack of distance training; and did I mention the 7 am start? Take off from the Clovis fair grounds. Then about a mile before getting back home, I saw runners with bibs coming toward me! They were running a 5K! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

MW came over recently and we ran my regular 8K route together. M. W. said she was enjoying the lovely course going out, but I said, “just wait till we head back.” Some people find out-and-back routes boring, but not me. We turned around at 4K and there were the mountains, the lake, the sequoias. Wow! A travers Romanel 2012. Husband, Son 2 and I were all three signed up for last Friday evening's 10K. Course à Dingler 2012. When Husband and I got to Savigny last Saturday afternoon for the Dingler 10K.

Gotta run...: L'Escalade 2013

The weather was perfect for this year’s Escalade. I got to the Bastions in Geneva in time to see C. run his race. I cheered for him on each of his three laps, but he was so focused that he never saw me. I then made my way to the starting line where I joined 650 other ladies running the women’s masters race.
