That's Life: July 2014
http://thatslife12.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 31, 2014. About six weeks ago I saw an ad in our church paper stating that the men's club was trying to get a group together to go see the Tigers (our State's baseball team) play. When I checked the date of the game, I was surprised to see that the date was my birthday. I thought it would be great to have all the kids and then some come to the game. So I ordered tickets and prayed for sunshine! Throughout the day I received serenades from several people. This was my favorite! It poured for...

That's Life: May 2014
http://thatslife12.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 7, 2014. My dad and three of the grandchildren. My mom's world has opened up a little since he was admitted. She made a trip to California, in February, to see my brother and his family. Then, in April, we finally made our road trip to Indiana. We drove there and back in two days. It was amazing! The weather was perfect; the roads were fairly free of traffic and the company was great. I have short arms, thus the hacked off sign. :-). The view from the dining room (yes that cabinet now has ...

That's Life: August 2015
http://thatslife12.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 29, 2015. Eyebrows and Ice Cream. Son Josh was home for 48 hours between training assignments in the Air Force. First he went to Texas to fill out paperwork for a week. A week's worth of paperwork? He came home for a day or so and was off to Colorado for a month. In Colorado, he earned his private pilot license. Again, he got to come home for two days and now he is off to Oklahoma for the foreseeable future to learn how to fly the Air Force jets. Seeing him leave again is hard, but we're...

That's Life: April 2015
http://thatslife12.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 2, 2015. Do you remember your legs aching when you were growing? I sure do. All of our kids have gone through it, especially our tenacious one. This is her growth chart for the past 10 months:. We have had to shop for clothing twice in the past 6 months because she is growing so fast! Folks at church comment all the time on how tall she is. She has almost caught up to her big sister, but she has a ways to go to catch up to her big brother. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

That's Life: August 2014
http://thatslife12.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 10, 2014. I asked my dear one to please take the little (ok, not so little anymore) girls up north to see his parents for the weekend. About every 5 months or so, I just need some "me time". My dear one is very willing because he knows it makes me a better person, wife and mom. The past couple of times I've needed some time alone, I have gone away. But, hotels are expensive and sometimes, a little lonely if there is no other plan for the weekend. I went to Mass,. Had lunch with a friend,.

That's Life: A Short Trip to the Bank
http://thatslife12.blogspot.com/2015/01/i-went-to-bank-today-to-complete-very.html
Tuesday, January 27, 2015. A Short Trip to the Bank. I went to the bank today to complete a very simple transaction: deposit two checks, and a $50 bill and get $10 back. I got a new teller. I've had her one other time and it seems that it's taking a long time for her to learn all there is to learn. She put in the account information, added the data about the two checks and the cash. She proceeded to take the $10 out of the drawer and then looked back at the screen. Why is the deposit number wrong? She ap...

Sunday, October 19, 2014. It started with an idea. A friend asked my mom if she wanted to walk the Detroit Free Press 1/2 Marathon. She accepted and so did a mutual friend from California. (Leave California in October to come to Michigan to walk a marathon? Let the training begin. New shoes made for walking long distances were a must. Have to protect those feet! Hers says: NOREEN 75 YEARS STRONG and STEADY on the back and Detroit Free Press 1/2 Marathon Walk 10/19/14 on the front. Way to go ladies!

The Joy of Sneezing: 2014-11-30

The Joy of Sneezing. Walk as if your feet are kissing the earth." Thich Nhat Hahn. Friday, December 5, 2014. Let me play you a song. I sit and play the piano. I play until I start to get it right. I'm not nearly where I want to be when it comes to decoding those black lines and dots on paper, but I tell myself that there's always someone worse than me, or someone older who is just beginning. The Joy of Sneezing: My Too-personal Relationship With Depression
http://thejoyofsneezing.blogspot.com/2014/08/my-too-personal-relationship-with.html
The Joy of Sneezing. Walk as if your feet are kissing the earth." Thich Nhat Hahn. Thursday, August 14, 2014. My Too-personal Relationship With Depression. In the wake of Robin Williams' passing, depression has been on everyone's tongue. Is it really that bad? At what point does a person decide that life is no longer a good option for them? My friend, Janet, sent me a link yesterday:. Http:/ www.ted.com/talks/andrew solomon depression the secret we share? The sun rises and I grieve the turning of night i...
