http://dunhagan_gardening.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
A periodic rambling description of the homesteading activities at Dun Hagan. Sunday, January 28, 2007. A Work In Progress. Speaking of pulling, in spite of marauding chickens and the depredations of insects in our hither to now warm winter the turnips are still producing. I pulled these tonight. The row really needs thinning but they're doing their best. Winter seems finally to have come to us, but no snow. At least not the frozen kind. What I do have are these:. Posted by Alan @ 8:48 PM. Unfortunately t...

Dun Hagan Gardening: October 2007
http://dunhagan_gardening.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
A periodic rambling description of the homesteading activities at Dun Hagan. Wednesday, October 17, 2007. Last Friday Fall finally arrived here in Florida. The night time lows dipped into the fifties for a few nights and the day time highs have been staying at 90 or below mostly. It was time to get with it if I was going to get any cool season stuff planted. I did eventually get the whole thing done front to back then side to side to bust the sod up. There wasn't a trace of moisture in the dirt. I'm hopi...

Dun Hagan Gardening: February 2007
http://dunhagan_gardening.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
A periodic rambling description of the homesteading activities at Dun Hagan. Sunday, February 25, 2007. It was a weekend day and I didn't have to ride herd on a two-year old nor go and do anything for anyone else (at least until late afternoon) so I finally planted the Louis Phillippe rose that the father of a friend of my wife's gave to the Kinder Major and the Caldwell Pink (I think that's right) that I bought December before last at the Dudley Farm Days here. Posted by Alan @ 9:23 PM. I stretched the ...

Dun Hagan Gardening: March 2007
http://dunhagan_gardening.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
A periodic rambling description of the homesteading activities at Dun Hagan. Friday, March 30, 2007. Late Spring Wildflowers at Dun Hagan. It was a busy day on the homestead today watering everything on the place it seemed like, but not so busy that I failed to notice the wildflowers around me. I stuck the camera in my pocket to take advantage of whatever targets of opportunity might present themselves as I went about my rounds. Also known as the Florida Green Eyes. With a large, fleshy carrot like t...

Dun Hagan Gardening: May 2007
http://dunhagan_gardening.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html
A periodic rambling description of the homesteading activities at Dun Hagan. Sunday, May 27, 2007. Humans are far from the first animals to use a thing for other than the purpose it originally came to be. Birds at the least have been doing it probably ever since Archaeopteryx. First swiped some dinosaur's nest for her own purposes. It's no different today, they just do it to humans! It's like this every Spring. Never know where I'm going to find the nests. I got sort of a late start this morning for fixi...

Dun Hagan Gardening: November 2006
http://dunhagan_gardening.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
A periodic rambling description of the homesteading activities at Dun Hagan. Sunday, November 12, 2006. Mid-November at Dun Hagan. For all the fact that it was a three day weekend I didn't get much gardening done to show for it. The rest of Friday was spent in taking the kids to the park and ice cream afterwards. You have to propitiate them once in a while or they'll get all in your hair when you're trying to get work done. {laughing}. You can bet she remembers them from last year. The container citrus p...

Dun Hagan Gardening: June 2007
http://dunhagan_gardening.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
A periodic rambling description of the homesteading activities at Dun Hagan. Thursday, June 21, 2007. Snowfall at Dun Hagan. We're starting to see some semi-regular rain now. It's still not what we normally get, but it's a sight more than what we've been getting so I'm happy with it. One of the reasons I'm happy to see it is that I can finally get all of the bags of shredded paper off my back porch and in the hen yard where they belong! The paper I forked out of the hen house for the spring garden pretty...
