Beyond the Belly: July 2015
http://beyondthebelly.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 26, 2015. A father of girls. We often get the question: Are you going to try for a boy? Our answer is always the same.we are happy with what God has given us, two beautiful, spunky and entertaining daughters. Not to mention Patrick has 45 boys on the cross county team. So we are in no short supply of boys! He's great at demonstrating the latest hair styles. Documenting important invitations on his iPhone. Encouraging them to make crazy faces during pictures when their mother wants only smiles.

Beyond the Belly: January 2015
http://beyondthebelly.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 31, 2015. The girls were in desperate need of a trim. Up until I now I have been the one to cut their locks. It is with great reluctance they agree, get settled and sit still enough for me to cut it. And it's usually a two day process as I see hair I missed the first time around. And I had such high hopes for a precious "first cut" experience. I should know my expectations are never a match for reality, both good and bad. You can do it Anna! In the end, it took 15 minutes and they recei...

Beyond the Belly: June 2015
http://beyondthebelly.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 27, 2015. If you've read my blog for a few years now, you'll know what comes right after Girls Week (and why I don't post for a bit). It's LAKE WEEK! Sorry for all the pictures that are about to follow! We take all us girls and head up to Lake Keowee in upstate South Carolina to join my mom, dad and brother. Of course, the hubbies are there too because let's be honest, it would be really hard to do the lake without them. Snack time for the Anna fish. Plugging her nose before jumping! Other...

Beyond the Belly: Ridge Haven 2015
http://beyondthebelly.blogspot.com/2015/08/ridge-haven-2015.html
Saturday, August 1, 2015. Right now I am climbing through a mountain of laundry and recouping from a week of very little sleep because our family just got back from RIDGE HAVEN! We spent the entire week chaperoning our youth at summer campin the mountains of North Carolina. I've been once before solo, but this year we agreed to go as a family of four. I thought the girls were old enough to handle it and it meant that we didn't have to be apart for an entire week of our summer. So many fun memories like w...

Beyond the Belly: April 2015
http://beyondthebelly.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 29, 2015. This week we hit the strawberry patch. And I mean we hit it hard! I now have three gallons of strawberries! I'll start from the beginning. I took her quart and my bucket home with me. Later when I picked her up from school, she was holding a large bag and explained she "picked a few more." What? How's that for strawberry math? I'll be making some more jelly for teacher appreciation gifts. I attached a little note that says, "Thank you BERRY much! Friday, April 24, 2015. Last ni...

Beyond the Belly: High Falls
http://beyondthebelly.blogspot.com/2015/08/high-falls.html
Sunday, August 2, 2015. One of my favorite parts of camp was taking a couple of hours one afternoon to hike up to High Falls just the four of us. We had a morning of hard labor and games, but still enough energy to go for a hike. Must have been the mountain air! At the bottom there were several places for them to wade in the water, find rocks and catch salamanders. At one point both of them were slurping up the water and I was just hoping we wouldn't have any ill effects later. Ha! Last day of summer.

Beyond the Belly: September 2014
http://beyondthebelly.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 29, 2014. I was asked to do a slightly different photography shoot this weekend. My friend, Erin (owner of the beach house, decorator of my living room extraordinaire) asked me to help her photograph some furniture pieces for her fall website profile. She is so creative when it comes to composition that I knew I wanted in on the project. Plus I just love helping her out! Which one do you like the most? Sunday, September 28, 2014. It has been one of those weeks around here! So after a gr...

Beyond the Belly: March 2015
http://beyondthebelly.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 31, 2015. South Carolina State Museum. Thanks to yet another "experience" gift from Christmas, we enjoyed a trip to the South Carolina State Museum. This was especially thrilling for Anna because the SCSM has a planetarium and observatory. Our budding astronomer was beyond excited! Next we wandered around the museum checking on the many exhibits. One of our favorites was the large robotic insects! Check out the honeycomb wall we built. We left happy and hungry! It really was a great experi...

Beyond the Belly: August 2014
http://beyondthebelly.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 28, 2014. It's GAME DAY baby! We're pumped around here for the beginning of football season. The Gamecocks kick off tonight against Texas A&M. Of course, we are all decked out in our Gamecock finest and posed for pictures before school. It's a tradition! And to add to the excitement, Patrick got a phone call from USC last week asking him and a guest (a-hem, me! If we would like to attend the game and go tailgating in a cock-a-boose. Umm, yes please! Tuesday, August 26, 2014. So today we ...

Beyond the Belly: Friends near and far
http://beyondthebelly.blogspot.com/2015/08/friends-near-and-far.html
Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Friends near and far. It's crazy to think the last time we saw them, Virginia was super pregnant and about ready to have Mary. Now she's 11 months old! Before we stopped by we headed to the mall for some shoe and pant shopping for Patrick. The girls held it together fairly well so we treated them to some cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory. Yum! Fortunately, we split two pieces although Anna was begging for a slice of her own. In the end I think she was glad we shared! I've bee...
