Ashan's Instructional Design: December 2009
http://arhdesign.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 27, 2009. Final Wk 8 Reflections. Reflection Ashan R. Hampton December 27, 2009. Before taking this course, I never considered the intricate process the brain follows in absorbing, storing and recalling information. Once data gets lodged into the brain’s long-term memory, the ease of recalling the information depends on the associative structures that were used to get it there from short-term memory. This is why mnemonics have been very useful to me over the years. Links to this post.

Ashan's Instructional Design: Week 7 Learning Theory Reflections
http://arhdesign.blogspot.com/2009/12/week-7-learning-theory-reflections.html
Sunday, December 20, 2009. Week 7 Learning Theory Reflections. Although I still do not particularly enjoy blogging or social networks as a mode of learning, I can now appreciate the connectivist viewpoint about the meaningful nature of interpersonal learning exchanges. I prefer to gain information from experts and more authoritative sources, but I have found tutorials that some have posted to blog sites very helpful in my attempts to learn more advanced graphic design techniques. Final Wk 8 Reflections.

Ashan's Instructional Design: Connectivism
http://arhdesign.blogspot.com/2009/12/connectivism.html

Davis and Kelly-Bateman’s web article on connectivism offers this paraphrase of the importance of networks, according to Siemens’ theory:. Taking online classes has, however, forced me to adjust the way I gain new knowledge in this situation, because instead of grabbing a book first or a printed syllab...

Ashan's Instructional Design: The 60 second lecture
http://arhdesign.blogspot.com/2009/11/60-second-lecture.html
Friday, November 13, 2009. The 60 second lecture. I just discovered this blog post and wanted to share it, because I found it fascinating; this is new information for me. As a former college instructor, I can say that the educational process becomes compromised when short cuts like these are employed in the classroom on a regular basis. Our educational system was built on brick and mortar, traditional teaching techniques that need to be resurrected, not replaced. The 60 second lecture. Skeptics, however,...
