VAST 410 Senior Studio. March 26, 2013. I didn’t really realize how time-consuming this project would be, but I’m really loving it! It’s definitely a nice break from all the essays and such I have due this time of year, haha. I am currently working on two portraits, the first one and this one here. This is the same as the first portrait, but made completely out of homemade paper.🙂 What do you guys think? Should I attempt to make the two versions or stick with one? From → portraits.

VAST 410 Senior Studio. Hair Problems = First World Problems. March 30, 2013. I have super thin hair. It doesn’t have much volume at all and it frizzes when wet or sweaty. And it ALWAYS parts in the centre. I’ve wanted side bangs for so long now, but my hair says NO! And when I grow it out really long (and don’t curl it), it looks like it belongs to a hundred-year-old dead woman. Awesome. Why do so many pride themselves in their hair? Is there really this complex connection between identity and hair?

VAST 410 Senior Studio. April 10, 2013. 35″x45″ (or 45″x35″) each. Handmade paper, paint, 3B pencil, glue. Wow; I managed to complete seven portraits for this series. The biggest challenge was doing the shading, honestly. Dying the paper, cutting it out, painting, and gluing was relaxing, but the shading stressed me right out!
