Jeff's adventures: April 2013
http://jzadventuretime.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 26, 2013. Arizona Trail Race - 300. When Nancy and I started into the bikepacking thing last year. We had this remote thought that maybe we'd do the AZT300 ( http:/ www.topofusion.com/azt/300.php. Discussing strategy as the bikes get loaded up. 3 racers in their bivys dreaming of pedalling the AZT. The trail started out a little rocky, but a mostly downhill slope. The sun was coming up and it looked to be another beautiful day. Eventually, the trail started rolling up and down. These cows w...

Jeff's adventures: February 2014
http://jzadventuretime.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 19, 2014. 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo. I'm not a big fan of paying someone for the privilege of riding my bike in circles. However, a number of friends were doing the 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo. And Nancy wanted to do it as a duo with me. Since I can deny her nothing, off went the registration form and a check. I've done a few 24 hour races - but that was long ago, back in PA, and part of a 4 person team (Old n' Dirty). I'd never done a duo, so this would be interesting. We rolled in F...

Jeff's adventures: December 2013
http://jzadventuretime.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 7, 2013. The weekend of 12/6 was supposed to be an epic weekend of camping and riding. We were going to camp at Freeman Road and do a very big ride on Saturday and a big ride on Sunday. The day started out quite brisk, as advertised. But that didn't stop a few hardy souls from showing up at the Ripsey trailhead. Caroline, Ray, John, Derek, Randy, Nancy and I made up the group for the day. It was definitely a chilly start - heading down to the river, but everyone was stoked. All good th...

Jeff's adventures: September 2013
http://jzadventuretime.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 30, 2013. Dawn broke on a cold Saturday morning. We suited up and got rolling up the hill to the AZT. Ice crunched under tires, but spirits were high. Yeah, it was that cold. There was a good bit of deadfall on the first, downhill section of the AZT. I started out what would be a bad trend on that first section by having a slow leak. Turned out it was a pinhole in my tire that the Stan's was not plugging. When was the last time I checked that? The peak starts to recede. The trail was pr...
