I wrote that piece a few hours before going for a walk around Discovery Park. By Seattle standards, I think Discovery Park might be sort of commonplace. I do a good job of convincing my friends that they can and should learn web development, and so I often get asked how. Free and not free resources abound for learning, but they tend to be a little showing-the-trees instead of showing a map of the forest. My friends want a map of the forest.
