First I lost a bunch of weight and just needed a new goal to keep staying in shape. I set the goal of running in my first triathlon. Ten years later I did my first one and placed second overall. After I lost my job, and the middle of my second season of racing, I found training for my next triathlon gave me a focus away from work. It's helped me keep my sanity! Two amazing swimmers are putting on another swim clinic at the National Training Center in Clermont. I did one with them a few weeks ago with them and I learned so much that I will be busy working on much of it throughout the season. Misty Becerra and Sara McLarty are looking to teach swim technique and open water tips for swimmers of ALL LEVELS.

Triathlon Keeps Me Sane. This blog is mostly about triathlon, but it touches on my life in general too. Monday, April 13, 2009. My Gear - Sportcount - a stopwatch and lap counter for the pool. Doing laps in the pool can be tedious. As you swim you want to concentrate on improving your stroke, your drills and count laps. I always lose track of my laps, especially when I am concentrating hard on everything else. This is very basic, but it get's the job done. I love having one less thing to think about.
