Tuesday, June 23, 2015. The confederate battle flag; so many misunderstand what it represents. It is a symbol that the states are sovereign over the federal government. That and the fact that many of us are proud of our states leaders before us for standing for the sovereignty of the states. Which by the way is something never taught in the schools. This flag while hijacked by hateful and racist people is not a symbol of racism. The blood of free black men was shed under the shadow of this flag as well.
