A musical interlude | Musings of a Mountain Cat

Musings of a Mountain Cat. About writing, reading, and general wondering. September 8, 2011. It’s not uncommon when getting to know someone, or even when just making. This picture was so adorable that I couldn't resist it. Small talk, to ask them what kind of music they listen. If you are like me, this is not an easy question to answer. The music that I listen to varies a lot, crossing all genres, but that is not say that I like. I suppose, in the end, this post is about the fact that stories are more th...

Game of Thrones and The Way | Musings of a Mountain Cat

Musings of a Mountain Cat. About writing, reading, and general wondering. October 30, 2011. Game of Thrones and The Way. I finally finished reading. The first book in George R. R. Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire. I can’t say too much about the overall story or how well I think Martin tells it. Is only the first book in a series that isn’t completed yet; and I just pray it doesn’t turn into another Wheel of Time. Yesterday, I went to go see the movie. On the topic of Heroes…. Musings of a Mountain Cat. About writing, reading, and general wondering. January 10, 2012. I hope that 2012 has been treating everyone well so far. I hope that your holidays had more happy times than stressful ones, and that you were able to spend your time with people you love and who love you. My big project at the moment has been working on a new website. It will basically be a more refined version of this blog, only a little more sophisticated and (dare I say it? I think that regularly when I read P...

Book-Challenge Update | Musings of a Mountain Cat
https://mountaincatmusings.wordpress.com/2011/09/16/book-challenge-update
Musings of a Mountain Cat. About writing, reading, and general wondering. September 16, 2011. Ok, so, I’ve gotten a bit out of the routine for doing my book-a-week challenge, mostly due to the fact that I was gone on vacation last week and more exciting things to do than sit and and read a book (not that reading a book can’t be terribly exciting). After finishing The Five People You Meet in Heaven. I started reading this book called House of Leaves. And Game of Thrones. Will enjoy something. Like I s...

A collection of thoughts on whatever strikes my fancy, but mostly about books these days. Wednesday, September 29, 2010. What have you been reading? I finished The Help. By Kathryn Stockett and The School of Essential Ingredients. I really enjoyed The Help. But I loved The School of Essential Ingredients. I gave up on The Book of Air and Shadows. What are you currently reading? I am currently reading A Year in the World. I'm really enjoying it, but man does it make me hungry! What will you read next?

A collection of thoughts on whatever strikes my fancy, but mostly about books these days. Monday, December 13, 2010. Christmas books are a tricky thing. Sometimes the setting is only secondary to the plot which makes them not truly a Christmas read. Other times the author goes too overboard with Christmas and it winds up being overwrought. But Schwartz goes on to die in the book and who wants to endure that? Only with zombies, profanity and lots of sex. Delightfully wicked. The extra bit in the 2...By Jo...

A collection of thoughts on whatever strikes my fancy, but mostly about books these days. Tuesday, November 9, 2010. And this is why we are such a perfect match. Here is a snibblet of a conversation my husband and I had the other day. LW: You know who would be great to have in the zombie proof fortress? He could just torch them! LW: Jean Gray and Cyclops would be very useful too. Sunshine: Don't forget Wolverine! LW: I don't think that would be a good idea! Then we would need Magneto. Movies I want to see.

A Simple Blog at it's Messiest. Days upon days upon days… →. And so, old friend, we meet again…. November 28, 2010. Winter always brings out the worst in me. I become more reclusive. I become stressed over money, and yet I want to linger in retail therapy. I always think this will cheer me up, or that will motivate me to move forward. Nothing seems to be helping though. Things aren’t… bad. Things are just… stale. In that moment I was home, no matter where I was, because I was with him. But now here I sit...
