AUGUST HERB OF THE MONTH LEMONGRASS. Some species of lemongrass especially cymbopogon citratus are cultivated as culinary and medical herbs because of their scent which is similar to lemons. It is also named citronella grass. Citronella is planted in home gardens to ward off insects such as whiteflies.
