Chaine d’Or - 30. Photo by Dasja Dolan. Chaine d’Or is a small winery in Woodside, and we are celebrating our 30. After a couple of years we realized that we really were going to be able to grow grapes, and quite a few of them. That thought then was the realization that we would need a little winery, and so we built one by expanding our home and tucking it underneath the living room.

Thursday, April 21, 2011. Upcoming Event, May 21st - Downtown Saratoga. Paul and I have signed up to pour at "Bonnets and Blooms" in Saratoga on May 21st. We haven't decided which wines we'll pour (we usually only take two at events like these) but we have committed the last magnum of Haut Tubee for the Wine Magnum Auction. Friday, October 29, 2010. Stefania has been doing most of the blogging lately but I'm still around. Every time I think I'm going to write a blog the only thing that comes to mind is what particular part of my body is sore at the moment (shoulders and right hamstring right now) and I know that's just not that interesting to people. Tuesday, June 29, 2010. Cleaning Up the iPhone's Camera. I couldn't come up with a good title for this collection of pictures, and I know we've used 'Random Pictures' as a title before. When people come and visit the winery I often explain how the fog hangs during the summer on the peaks just about a mile from the winery. Monday, January 31, 2011. CWT - Labeling Shiners. There's a term used in the wine industry: Shiners. It's used to describe wine that has been bottled but not labeled. The only way to identify the wine is that the bottle 'shines'. Ok, not really. A shiner is a bottle of wine without a label. No name, no identity. Just to be clear:.
