The whole scheme is dedicated to St. Mary-the-Virgin, the patron of the church, and can be divided into four main sections as follows. On the north wall is the story of the Birth and Passion of Jesus, ending in his resurrection and ascension shown on the north side of the east wall. Also on the south wall at the west end is a picture of the Day of Judgement, or “Doom”.

According to the Domesday Book, in 1087 a priest named Brun occupied land here and preached the gospel. The present church dates from the early part of the 12th Century, and was begun by monks from Bec, the important Benedictine abbey in Normandy. We are proud to boast one of Oxfordshire's most scenic courses with an undulating 10K single lap race through local villages and the surrounding South Oxfordshire countryside.
