I tapped away; I could see the car park outside my office window was empty. Lights were being extinguished throughout the school. Just my office light cast a bright square on the dark tarmac. The silence was electrifying, intense and my mind focussed, moving through the landscape of the story, like the headlights of a slow-moving car driving across the moors.

Yes, the main holiday park allows non-residential visitors to park at the front of the park. Pay and display 4.50 per day. At busy times there is an overflow car park that opens up the lane on the Eastern side of the bay the walk to the beach is a little further from here. Is Challaborough beach lifeguarded?

Groceries to your caravan door. Can I bring my dog to Challaborough Bay? Dogs are allowed in some accomodation. Although Challaborough beach is not open for dogs between 1st May and 30th September, there are other places you can walk your dog nearby. Bigbury-on-sea has two large regions that are excellent for dog exercise at low tide, as shown on this diagram. The nearest pet shops are in Ivybridge High Street and Kingsbridge at the bottom of the hill. The nearest vets is South Moor vets.

Groceries to your caravan door. When staying at Challaborough it is inevitable that at some point you are going to run out of food, or have better things to do than cook. Not a problem - there are a number of possibilities on offer. The Bay' is also a fast food outlet which serves the general public as well as those in the park guests cabaret nightclub. Unless you are sitting in the club area you really need to take you food away as there is no seating on the outside.
