Tappan Talk: Heavily Insulated
http://tappantalk.blogspot.com/2014/02/heavily-insulated.html
Saturday, February 22, 2014. I recently received a request from Katy for cooking tips when using a Tappan oven. This is a topic that I don't think we have touched on previously. The Tappan Deluxe models (and probably other models too) have what is described in Tappan Materials as a "heavily insulated" oven. They actually talk a little bit about it in some of the Owners' Manuals. I have included one of the pages below. February 28, 2014 at 7:12 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Tappan Talk: Tappan Deluxe Wall Oven
http://tappantalk.blogspot.com/2011/05/tappan-deluxe-wall-oven.html
Saturday, May 28, 2011. Tappan Deluxe Wall Oven. I received the following photo from Andrew. I've also included our email exchange. Watch for a follow up post on a similar wall oven. I don't know the model # (it is a Deluxe), and haven't found any examples online yet that match. Perhaps you know? Wow, thanks for sharing the photo. Would you mind if I posted it on my blog for readers to see? I wonder if there's any information out there on the dates that Tappan participated in a trade show in Chicago.

Tappan Talk: June 2011
http://tappantalk.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 26, 2011. Ron and Aiden were some of the first readers to send me photos of their Tappan Deluxe stove. I posted about Mighty Whitey back on January of 2010. Well, Mighty Whitey has done some traveling since we first met her (or is it him? The Tappan Deluxe has moved from Illinois to Minnesota and has a new home in a kitchen built to her specifications. Note the built in vintage style flour and sugar bins on either side. Salt and Pepper Shakers. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I have started a sp...

Tappan Talk: Late 1940's Tappan
http://tappantalk.blogspot.com/2010/11/late-1940s-tappan.html
Sunday, November 14, 2010. Angie sent me the following email about her stove, as well as a bunch of great photos:. I originally thought her stove was early 1940's. I started looking through the 1940 and 1941 Sales Manuals I have and found a similar back splash and "cove" top, but the vents were vertical instead of horizontal like Angie's stove. Then I pulled out an older Owner's Manual ( courtesy of Ron and Aiden. Also, note the similarities to Dionne's stove. Thanks Angie for sharing the photos! As I st...

Tappan Talk: Mid-Century Tappan Wall Ovens
http://tappantalk.blogspot.com/2010/02/mid-century-tappan-wall-ovens.html
Tuesday, February 2, 2010. Mid-Century Tappan Wall Ovens. Last week I posted photos of Mike's 1959 Tappan stainless steel wall oven and cook top. Mike was hoping someone might have a copy of an Owner's Manual. Well, no Owner's Manual has surfaced yet, but I did receive a September 1955 McCall's magazine article that introduced the "latest and greatest" of new stoves from Joe M. And the ad includes a stainless steel wall oven and cook top. October 15, 2010 at 2:16 PM. December 16, 2010 at 10:03 PM. I have...

Tuesday, January 19, 2010. Ron and Aiden's 1948 Tappan Deluxe Stove. This afternoon I received an email from Ron and Aiden regarding their 1948 Tappan Deluxe Model AV667-12 named "Mighty Whitey". Their Deluxe stove has the red burner knob backs (I love that the Kitchenaid mixer matches), a pair of the Tappan Chef salt and pepper shakers (which match their burner covers), the Time Control Clock has a chrome center knob (which I haven't seen before) and their back splash light has a pull chain. I have a Ta...
