Chapel in Hawaii 2008. Sunday, July 6, 2008. Our last three concerts went great today.Our first was with just the choir during a special patriotic church service at Valley Isle Fellowship. The second was at a Valley Isle Fellowship Block Party where we also had lunch (including some octopus and a lot of mango) and played some recreation games with the church members. Chapel in Hawaii 2008. Saturday, July 5, 2008. Day 8 and 9. Sorry for the delay in posts, but the power went out in the hotel last night! We are up and running now though. Yesterday we took a ferry to the Pineapple Festival on the island of Lana'i- where the Dole plantation used to be. Our patriotic concert there went well; we even did some encore songs! The day ended with a 4th of July fireworks show. Today we spent the entire day at the beach swimming, tanning (or burning), relaxing, etc. Day 8 and 9.

Chapel in Hawaii 2008. Wednesday, July 2, 2008. Our first day of VBS at Kahului Baptist was amazing! All of the Chapel students eagerly served, and the kids we taught seemed to have a great time as well. After VBS in the morning, we had an our first outdoor concert at Maui Mall. It was quite hot, but we had a little cloud throughout the concert. During the song "Cover Me," the sky "covered" in clouds as the choir sang the words- God really showed his presence! Chapel in Hawaii 2008. Thursday, July 3, 2008. VBS at Kahului Baptist ended today, but we have had so much fun with all the children. We have been truly blessed by the sweet attitudes and warm welcomes we've received at Kahului! Our seventh concert was at Queen Ka'ahumanu Mall- try saying that three times fast! Chapel in Hawaii 2008. Sunday, June 29, 2008. We had a blessed day today.God really showed his presence in the worship times (concerts) we had at Olivet Baptist (morning) and Waikiki Baptist Church (evening). Some of the members of Olivet Baptist made beautiful fresh flower leis for all of us. We discovered that once someone puts a lei on you, it is common curtesy to wear it for the rest of the day even if it wilts, which most of ours did! Olivet Baptist ("Cover Me" intro). Chapel in Hawaii 2008. Monday, June 30, 2008. We are in Maui! On another note, a couple of survivors of the attack were present at the memorial. They were sweet men and graciously signed autographs for the crowd of people there. After Pearl Harbor, we headed for Iolani Palace where we took our tour photo in not one but two different color t-shirts! We then had lunch in the park outside of the palace. Tuesday, May 10, 2005. To me, Stealing is Stealing. You basically said that it's ok for a homeless person to steal for his own gain but it's not right for any other person. What about a single mother? Someone who's gone bankrupt? Or even someone that needs money to pay off debts?
