13 January 2015 •. This year, I’m actually going to travel abroad. My poor passport didn’t see any action in 2014. I’m sure it’s feeling a little neglected. I’m determined to travel more. In fact, I read a great article by Monica of The Travel Hack. About saving money for travel and I intend to take on board her advice. This year, these few plans are all I can muster but I intend to get my finances in order during the year so that from next year on I can travel a whole lot more. I’m going alone to ...

United States of America. How To Experience Vegas On a Budget. 9 September 2013 •. United States of America. Cheapest time to visit Vegas. Las Vegas doesn’t have an off button so identifying a cheap time to visit can be hard. Generally speaking the months of July and August are quieter as this is when the temperature climbs. The slight lull means there can be some great deals on cheap flights to Las Vegas. Cheap food and drink. Pretend you’re in Venice at the Venetian Hotel. This is a contributed post br...

Hubby’s Birthday Weekend. 3 February 2015 •. Last weekend was hubby’s birthday. He turned 29, so he’s caught up with me for a while! He likes to joke that I’m a cougar, but I don’t think it counts if you’re only three months older! Since his birthday was on the Friday I took the day off work so we could spend the day together. The cupcakes I baked were amazing. I followed a recipe for Cosmopolitan Cupcakes from Peggy Porschen’s. Sis opted for El Chico Mexicano, which had guacamole, tortillas and chipotle...

Sunny evening walk in Folkestone. 12 April 2015 •. On Friday evening I could have walked out of work, turned left and walked home. Instead, I turned right and headed up to the Leas. It seemed a shame to waste such a lovely evening. It upsets me when people complain about Folkestone. It might not be the best town in the world but it’s where I live and it definitely has a lot of positive points. It was a very special place to get hitched. All this is just minutes from my house. I took this walk, stoppi...

26 January 2015 •. As I type I’m stretched out on the sofa, under a blanket, kind of watching. A Place in the Sun. And kind of concentrating on what I’m doing. I can’t help but think I’ll be more productive if I had an office. I’m hoping one day I’ll be able to have a desk in a proper guest room rather than a room filled with junk! Because I’ve been planning my home office for a while I’ve created this Pinterest board:. Follow Rachel Birchley’s board Home Office on Pinterest. Even if I successfully hide ...

A Free Afternoon at the Park: Aquarev, Brittany. 5 November 2012 •. The park is run by the local council and is immaculately maintained. There’s a fantastic play area for kids and loads of other sports facilities, including archery and fishing. The play area said it was for kids over 6. There was no stated upper age limit so we took advantage of the fact that all the kids were are school and had a good play! We still managed to enjoy ourselves though. You Might Also Like. BEDM – Out of the Comfort Zone – Festival OOTD. 22 May 2014 •. Has challenged us to go out of our comfort zones as part of Blog Every Day in May. The timing was perfect because I’d just been contacted by New Look, asking if I would like to style some summer fashion items. So I’m posted my first (and possibly. Festival style summer look. Gorgeous Fresh Vegetables from Kent Veg Box. 28 November 2013 •. Yummy vegetables from farms in Kent. Last week I was lucky enough to be sent a free box of gorgeous Kentish veg from the lovely people at Kent Veg Box. This is the medium veg box that would normally cost 12. The box was delivered to my work and was bursting with vegetables, which were covered in mud, as if to prove that they were farm fresh! I found the recipe on HonieMummy Blog. 175g / 6 oz / 1 cup soft brown sugar. 3 free range eggs.

Canterbury Food and Drink Festival 2013. 6 October 2013 •. Phew this week has flown past! How can it be a week since the Canterbury Food and Drink Festival? Shame on me for not getting this blog written sooner. The last time I went to the Canterbury Food Festival it was called the Euro Fair and it was 2004! Walking into the Dane John Gardens, I could immediately smell the alluring aroma of food cooking. Who decided to put the hot food stands at the entrance to the festival? I spent nearly 5 minutes agoni...
