Monday, June 11, 2012. Nice has come and gone and I have to say I'm kind of sad, it was so fast! The last day and a half was spent studying for our final and taking the test and then the whole group went out for one last dinner together. There was a mixed sense of sadness and relief as everyone prepared to go home, or to their next destination. This is what I was looking at when it started to dawn on me that I had taken my last final. Another view from dinner.the charm never ends in Nice.

Tuesday, June 5, 2012. If That Was a Castle, Then What is This? This little white section is what's left of the Middle Ages Structures built in the 10th and 11th Centuries. This wing is a great example of the Flamboyant style of architecture, a movement that was pronounced but short lived, falling between Gothic and Renaissance, sometimes just considered early Renaissance. Wednesday, June 6, 2012. Stumbling onto Old Nice. We were actually trying to find the old castle on Monday, and we got totally lost and by the time we found it, it was closed. We just tried to ignore the fact that our professor told us to go at night because the view was so great! I'm kind of sad about these pictures because I assume my camera is trying to compensate for the low light and much of the rich color and actual ambiance is not captured. So just wander with me. Monday, April 30, 2012. Walk # 12 Time Travel, Tricks and Treats Around Saint Suplice. This walk was by far my favorite one so far! We actually started the walk by checking out this famous hotel. Picasso, Matisse and even Charles De Gaulle have stayed here. De Gaulle chose it for his honeymoon. But with rooms going at 2,500 Euros a night, have no idea how you can enjoy yourself.
