Turning Stones Blog: Children's Art Wall
http://indigoamethyst.blogspot.com/2014/03/childrens-art-wall.html
Monday, March 10, 2014. We have 5 kids and they make a lot of pictures for us to enjoy. Our refrigerator is stainless steel, which means it's not magnetic, and therefore the only way to display their art was taping it to the wall. Um, not ideal. So I saw. This idea on Pinterest. Who found it in the Utah Valley Parade of Homes):. The entire sheet was done in about 8 sections so the paint wouldn't dry before I got to mixing it together. A quick little close up:. I finished it off with a little paintable ca...

Thursday, January 31, 2013. I frosted everything in chocolate and just put the white frosting right on top of it. For the nose I used a Starburst cut in half. Then, to make the lines for his mouth I dipped a butter knife into the chocolate frosting and drew with the point of it. Add a couple of eyes from M&Ms and two ears from extra cupcakes and you have yourself a very quick and easy Destruct-A-Bear cake. Posted by Indiri @ Turning Stones. Thursday, January 31, 2013. Thursday, June 16, 2011. My front door patio is really plain. In fact, about the only things out there are a welcome sign and a bunch of bikes, scooters and skates. Over the next few weeks one of my new projects is remaking that space into something as interesting as I can for as little money as possible. Which means shopping home. I started by making this very simple sign (that I found the quote for on Pinterest here. A board from the scrap pile. Craft paint (white wicker). Thursday, June 16, 2011.

Vicious Circles: Acceptance
http://bloresrazor.blogspot.com/2011/04/acceptance.html
Friday, April 15, 2011. My friend Buddha Mama has been preaching the gospel of “right speak”. Recently in her blog. I have been thinking about right speak’s cousin “acceptance” a great deal of late. This is mostly because I find myself trapped in a world of whiners who battle to come up with the best whine of the day. 8220;I’m so busy.”. And then they proceed to prove to you how busy they are and stew about it. 8220;The kids are slobs.”. And then they proceed to stew over cleaning up after them. To see t...

Vicious Circles: June 2010
http://bloresrazor.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 12, 2010. For over a decade now, the summer has started with a night of dance. Two nights, actually, if you count the dress rehearsal. The bitter cold auditorium filled to capacity to watch the multitude of dresses and music and choreography. But no matter how many people are on stage. I only have eyes for you. And I love you all the more for it. Thursday, June 3, 2010. Then came a horrific crash which sounded like thunder, but in my room. I threw on some shorts and ran down the hall t...

Vicious Circles: Silence
http://bloresrazor.blogspot.com/2011/03/silence.html
Monday, March 28, 2011. There is a beauty in silence. A profound tranquility that comes upon us as we sit out among nature, or hide away in our secret cloister. This silence is one that must be sought after. It does not come to us unbidden any longer. There is too much noise. Too many competing points of view bidding for our time. I can see the Grinch in my head with drum sticks beating on each side, and “Noise, noise, noise, noise…”. Ringing in my own eardrums. I am complicit in this subjugation, however.

Sunset, punch & a photographer in the wild | one blue wren
https://onebluewren.wordpress.com/2011/01/25/the-wedding
Sunset, punch and a photographer in the wild. A few more shots from Alarna and Dave’s. Gorgeous wedding… I’m slowly working my way through a pile of undeveloped rolls. Slide film isn’t something I shoot very often these days my first choice is usually a black and white so the saturated colour and clarity of this film was a bit of a surprise. Quite perfect for an evening in the country though. Is the photographer you can see hard at work in those last two shots. He did a beautiful job. Leave one →. AMAZIN...
