Bits and bobs as they happen. Posted in Knee Surgery. So I have mentioned my knees a lot but the diagnosis is Chondromalacia Patellae plus a few cartilage issues. What is the patella? The patella is the kneecap bone. It lies within the quadriceps tendon. This large tendon from the powerful thigh muscles (quadriceps) wraps round the patella and inserts into the top of the lower leg bone (tibia). The quadriceps muscles straighten the leg. Bits and bobs as they happen. Feels like my soul has died! Posted on November 22, 2016. And it all comes tumbling down…. I did quite well with this news as I felt my surgeon really understood me and he explained very well why the surgery will not work with someone with my condition. He was very supportive about my mental health and weight issues. If I lose weight i could reduce my pain levels but he understands that for me that is not a quick thing. Ah well, that’s my rant done for the day! So I have men...

Bits and bobs as they happen. I can’t let this beat me. I have an eating disorder, recently diagnosed. I have symptoms of Bulimia and Binge Eating. My weight has gone up a lot. I am not very mobile due to my knee condition so can’t exercise. I am in pain all the time and so now have turned to comfort eating. I used to be able to go days without eating and now I am struggling to go even a day without over eating. I need to lose the weight for my knees but also for my own well being and self eating.
