This was my grandmother's perfume bottle. This was made by the Jane-Art company in Elmhurst, New York in the 1940's. These are definitely collector's items, but this one will never be for sale. Vanity glassware, two of them are etched glass. Also, not positive which decade they date from - 1940s to 1950s is my guess. Here they are on a mirrored tray, looking great on my vanity.

We have added a shade cloth covering since this photo was taken. Will be posting updates to this page as I get the photos taken. Fish are fun! They are fascinating to watch, relaxing and the water sound of the three waterfalls is soothing. Bog side of the pond. The netting was to keep the red tail hawks from swooping down and grabbing fish for lunch. The netting stopped this from happening. Now we have a taller shade cloth supported on iron poles, keeping the pond clear to see the fish better.

Arts and Crafts is one of my favorite styles. Art Deco is another of my favorites, and to tell the truth, if I could have an Arts and Crafts style house, would I fill it with Arts and Crafts, or Art Deco, or both? On the other hand, would I have the nerve to keep it other than Arts and Crafts? Our brand-new 1930's style overstuffed chair. Beautiful! Of course it has come down to the new chair is really for the cats. How could I possibly think it would be for us or our guests?

Detail of Chinese chocolate pot/creamer. These are my latest acquisitions, also vintage with the Chinese marks on the bottom. Blue Delft Creamer Cow, made in Holland. Always loved these since I was little. Turnip Salt and Pepper - Sometimes I cannot resist picking up the unusual from the thrift shops. While it is not my intention to collect salt and peppers, they just sometimes wind up in my collections, especially if they resemble fruits or vegetables! Page TWO of more ceramics. October 27, 2016.
