On 06/09/2014 · Leave a Comment. We drove up along a picturesque river, that from the road look to offer splendid fishing (or at least fish habitat). It’s hard to say how much pressure the river may receive. I was a bit disappointed by the river when I walk up to it; it appears there is a good covering of algae on the rocks in the river. Still, I’m sure there is good fishing. Continuing up the valley, near the pass, we reached our intended destination: Ruth Lake. Here, there are many sport climbing.

A page for my thoughts / opinions. September 19, 2010:. Autumn is approaching again, and it feels great. It’s definitely my favorite time of year. Certainly in Charlottesville, the reprieve from hot humid summer days is a big plus, and so perhaps the comfortable temperatures are more readily noticed. Winter is not so bitterly cold here, but still cold enough to keep you inside; it is not too surprising then that spring’s solace is not as noticeable. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. On 17/02/2014 · Leave a Comment. Set in early, and was curbed by a 10am “snack” on half my sandwich. That helped get me to the upper falls along White Oak Canyon (WOC), but soon after, I started to get hungry, and my pace slowed significantly. Above: left – WOC lower falls (note the sunny conditions); right – Skyline Drive (note the clouds). Above: before getting to Skyline Drive, I saw some boulders that looked good. Many of them have great height and landings, but I worry about the quality of rock.
