Palmetto Brewing Tour! ~ Charleston Craft Beer
http://charlestoncraftbeer.blogspot.com/2012/04/palmetto-brewing-tour.html
Where to Buy Craft Beer. The Charleston Beer Exchange. Wednesday, April 4, 2012. Last Friday, the wifey. And I got a chance to tour the Palmetto Brewing Company. To make their tasty Espresso Porter. From what I gathered, the Palmetto crew drink lots of their coffee and the peeps at Charleston Coffee Roasters get a lot a beer in return. A pretty sweet relationship if you ask me. 1) Palmetto Brewing was the first brewery to open in Charleston since Prohibition. Here are some more pics from the day:. The or...
My Ride on the Craft Beer Train! ~ Charleston Craft Beer
http://charlestoncraftbeer.blogspot.com/2012/03/my-ride-on-craft-beer-train.html
Where to Buy Craft Beer. The Charleston Beer Exchange. Thursday, March 22, 2012. My Ride on the Craft Beer Train! 8221; After that day, my fearless exploration into the world of craft beer began. I can’t say that right away I liked the Imperial Stouts and Double IPA’s of the world, but I was starting to really enjoy Hefeweizens, Belgian Whites, Saisons, Pale Ales, and Stouts. My mind was open, and so was my mouth. I had no fear for any beer! Once I went craft, I never went back! Posted in: Random Thoughts.

Where to Buy Craft Beer. The Charleston Beer Exchange. Thursday, March 6, 2014. Octobachi Asian Gastropub Review. The wifey and I hit up Octobachi Asian Gastropub. This past weekend. It has been on my list for awhile to go and check out. Since we were in the area, we popped in for some dinner and beers. Since we had the little guy with us, we only had one each, but they were both damn good. The menu is pretty extensive and fairly priced. There is a huge selection of appetizers, sushi, and hibachi! And ar...

http://bensbrews.blogspot.com/2014/06/a-bears-vice.html
My journey in making great homebrews! Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Recently I came back from the mountains, first camping trip since I was kid. It was stressful at times (mainly because trying to control two boys can be at times a challenge) but overall I really enjoyed it. Thought it was great to finally put away my stupid iPhone and not have access to the outside world. I seriously need to do that more often! So here is the recipe and cheers! Jamm'n Brews: December 2014
http://bensbrews.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
My journey in making great homebrews! Friday, December 12, 2014. Elf'n Madness Ale (Carrot Cake Quad). Insanity . yeah pretty much looney anything but ordinary is usually the only rule when I brew and this is no exception. If anything. I took it to a whole new level. Whatever line was there has be obliterated and only ashes of it remain. It has been a long time since I brewed my last Quad, and at first I thought I just make the same recipe again. BLAH really? I think the biggest thing I learned from doin...

My journey in making great homebrews! Friday, August 23, 2013. I don't brew amber ales that often heck I have only brewed it once, and to be honest that one wasn't even close to an amber ale. Here is that link to that brew - Imperial Mac and Jack. The final verdict isn't out yet but I bottled it about week ago and got to taste it the other day. It is not ready yet but is way more amber like then it's big brother! 95 lb 52 %. 2-Row Brewers Malt 3.5 lb 19 %. 180 oz 6 %. 10 lb 5 %. 10 lb 5 %. 140 oz 4 %.

My journey in making great homebrews! Monday, April 27, 2015. Bat Cave IPA 2.0 and Haus On Fire. We decided to make a 10 gallon batch, and the grain bill for this was probably one of the highest I have ever done, around 30 lbs! I am glad he was there to help me lift the pot, not sure I would have be able to do it on my own with out some serious spillage of hot nearly boiling 10 gallons of water! Bat Cave IPA/Haus on Fire. Briess White Malt Wheat. Briess 2-Row Caramel 40L. Pale Malt, Maris Otter. Gangs of...
Jamm'n Brews: November 2014
http://bensbrews.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
My journey in making great homebrews! Thursday, November 13, 2014. Been too, guess that is what happens when you have two very young boys. But I managed to brew this beer in time for the fall. Above on the left is this brew. I have made other brews like this one but I believe this one is a home run. I love the notes of cinnamon and nutmeg and it doesn't have a too strong of whisky aroma or flavor for those that are not into that. Fermentable Amount Use PPG Color. CaraFoam (DE) 8.0 oz 4 % 37 1 °L. Subscri...
