The Omamori Project: 二月堂のお守り A Charm from Nigatsudo

http://charmcollector.blogspot.com/2011/06/charm-from-nigatsudo.html

Friday, June 3, 2011. 二月堂のお守り A Charm from Nigatsudo. Many people only visit Todaiji, and they never see any of the other sites in this ancient city. Walk towards Nigatsudo, and you'll see shrine complexes falling into disrepair. It makes me feel very sad. Nigatsudo had these lovely, unique omamori. It almost looks homemade, doesn't it? Nigatsudo is famous for the lanterns, so it certainly suits. This is a metal omamori cast in a mold and painted white with a nice red cord. About the Omamori Project.

The Omamori Project: About the Omamori Project

http://charmcollector.blogspot.com/2013/01/about-omamori-project.html

Wednesday, January 2, 2013. About the Omamori Project. I have been studying Japanese for almost eight years now. Before coming to USC, I had travelled to Japan, four times, once with my family and three times on exchange programs. The Omamori Project: About Omikuji

http://charmcollector.blogspot.com/2012/03/about-omikuji.html

Friday, March 2, 2012. One of the most popular shrine-going activities is omikuji. Omikuji are fortune-telling slips, and they cost around a dollar, one hundred yen. Below, a woman at Shiroyama Hachimangu shrine ties her fortune to a special building. Unlucky fortunes are tied up at buildings or special trees around shrines in order to get rid of the bad luck. Fortunes will talk about finance, love, lost items, travel. And then your luck in the different categories is ranked. First you find the omikuji.
