Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Tonight officially marked the beginning of my summer. First, the weather was fan-tas-tic. In my heat deprived, north North American world, the higher degree temperatures are as cherished as the rarest gems. And tonight also was the first night I could wear flip flops until the wee hours of the morning without any discomfort. Saturday, August 7, 2010. INTERNET SUCKS IN CUBA! I'll write about this place when I get back home. To think that last year I was in a village of Nicaragua and wireless Internet was almost everywhere! Raul and Fidel need to get with the program man. I am excessively annoyed! And at the house where it was all taking place, there was that kind of artsy vibe I grew up around, that just made me feel at ease. Thursday, May 20, 2010. Later today, my 19-year-old niece will be leaving for her first major trip. Tonight, she will be boarding her very first plane, direction Morocco and then another plane, direction Mali, where she will be staying for 2 months! No need to say how proud I am. Thursday, January 5, 2012. Exactly 6 weeks after being officially laid off, I started my new job! I didn't even have time to start receiving unemployment. I'm really happy! After this big roller coaster of stress and emotions, balance is restored. It's now time for this new chapter to start. I'm a bit nervous but it's a good nervous. Tuesday, April 27, 2010. Today I was confronted for the second time by a behavior that is really starting to get on my nerves. There is this thing that some people do when faced with the feeling of guilt. They will go off on people around them (usually involved in the situation that created the guilt) and try to transfer the feeling of guilt onto them. What the hell is that?
