Three kids and the cat: April 2010
http://threekidsandthecat.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 28 April 2010. I'm finally losing it. Not my mind (that went awol yonks ago) but the pounds. Yes, I have signed up to a weight loss programme. Eww, even saying it out loud makes it sound all American and cheesy. Not too much cheese mind, that's fattening. I've never done a proper plan before, I always thought all that weighing yourself in front of people would be embarrassing more than motivating. But I've had enough of wearing clothes I don't like just because of excess squishy bits. Another ...

Three kids and the cat: February 2011
http://threekidsandthecat.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, 13 February 2011. It's taken over six years, but I've finally done it. With a wiggle and a squeeze, a huff and a puff, I managed to get into my pre-children jeans. For those blessed with good genes and a fast metabolism rate (p.s. I hate you), this might have been a doddle. But having three kids in six years has taken its toll on my waistline, which has been up and down more times than a tarts knickers. Running regularly kept muffin top at bay, plus I joined a local group of mums who ran around t...

Three kids and the cat: March 2010
http://threekidsandthecat.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 30 March 2010. H is for homework. Most parents with school aged children have encountered the following three people. I haven't met a more annoying set of characters in my life. Yet, they've been in our lives for two years now. They come from the Oxford Reading Tree. And the books they feature in are supposed to be a passport to helping your child to read. It's just a shame the stories are so unimaginative. And random. I'm tired of reading them, goodness knows how Minxy feels. Kew Gardens holds ...

Three kids and the cat: Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's off to work I go.
http://threekidsandthecat.blogspot.com/2010/11/hi-ho-hi-ho-its-off-to-work-i-go.html
Monday, 1 November 2010. Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's off to work I go. It's been almost a year and the moment has finally arrived. I'm back in the office tomorrow. Time has just whooshed by. When The Goddess arrived last December, I thought I would have plenty of time to chill out with the children, see more of my friends and generally breathe out a bit more. Instead, it's been really hectic, hard work and despite some lows it's mainly been good. So what joys will returning to work bring? Affording childcare, and...

Three kids and the cat: One is fun
http://threekidsandthecat.blogspot.com/2010/12/one-is-fun.html
Wednesday, 29 December 2010. The Goddess is a year old today. Crikey. Where has time gone? The past year has been pretty bonkers. Running around after three wee ones is no walk in the park and now I'm back at work, there's barely time to do anything. One thing that is for sure is The Goddess has greatly enriched all our lives. Her little face is enough to snap anyone out of a bad mood, and her character is becoming more apparent. Here's to more fun and frolics with the baby. 31 December 2010 at 22:40.

Three kids and the cat: You've been framed
http://threekidsandthecat.blogspot.com/2011/02/youve-been-framed.html
Saturday, 5 February 2011. Woah, doesn't time just fly by? For the past month, I've been working on a project for the house. I have a big blank wall that has been waiting to be filled with pictures. You know what it's like, you have a gazillion digital pictures on your computer and keep meaning to print them out and frame them. But you never do. Before you know it, another year has passed. A thousand pictures later, you're back to square one looking at them, but not doing anything with them. Now, anyone ...

Three kids and the cat: oldladyitis
http://threekidsandthecat.blogspot.com/2011/05/oldladyitis.html
Tuesday, 24 May 2011. So, another year older and possibly another year wiser. All I know is that having a birthday is the perfect opportunity for thinking about life in general. Who knew that turning 36 would be such a milestone? I just thought it was one of those 'nothing special' birthdays sandwiched between 35 and 40. But no, I am beginning to wonder if I'm starting to get that dreaded affliction of oldladyitis. I realised something was amiss when on holiday last month in France. Said, The Boy. Now wh...

Three kids and the cat: Happy half term
http://threekidsandthecat.blogspot.com/2011/06/happy-half-term.html
Sunday, 5 June 2011. Well that was quite a week. Half term can either be a welcome break from the too-ing and fro-ing of school runs and work and generally being a hamster on a wheel, or it can set your nerves jangling. What if you haven't got enough planned? What if you have too much planned? What if it rains all week? I've learned that you can't live by the 'what if? Rule of thumb if children are around. You just have to go with the flow a bit. Going to the rather marvellous V&A museum. And what fun we...
