Caring for Children since 1969. Organized as an Emergency Shelter by a men's Sunday School Class from Shelby Presbyterian Church-1969. Became part of the Cleveland County United Way-1972. Signed first Exclusive Use Contract with the Cleveland County Department of Social Services-1972. Opened James Home for Children-March 15, 1990. Moved Shelter Home to new location in Lattimore-April 1, 1991. James Home and Shelter Home merge into Children's Homes of Cleveland County-April 1, 1991.
