The silk arrived this morning, and I laid and cut the pattern while Deadliest Warrior Ninja versus Hoplite played in the background. The silk was 54" wide, and I had six yards, so I had to lay it out in a single layer. I still came up with about a quarter yard left over, even though my fabric was narrower than it was supposed to be. A Dress A Day.

I bought this Kay Unger pattern as soon as it was published, and just needed a good excuse to make it. Diving into my stash I found the most unlikely fabric - a faux suede furnishing fabric.
