The Cheerful Chickadee

Tuesday, 18 August 2015. LE - progress, at last. The blue diamond border is stitched in place. Now the applique can be done. Yellow daisy flowers, played a bit with this one, created a quick way to do these. Flowers around the compass. The coral is a striking colour. It feels good to finally get to this stage, progress at last! Monday, 17 August 2015. Girls, with a difference. For some the colour for girls is only pink. Girls can wear many different colours and can still be girly-girls. Sometimes it is h...

The Cheerful Chickadee: Love Entwined, Diamond border, the next step.

http://www.cheerfulchickadee.blogspot.com/2015/08/love-entwined-diamond-border-next-step.html

Monday, 3 August 2015. Love Entwined, Diamond border, the next step. Step 1. Join the strips at the corners to create one large square. Step 2. Pin the square in place. Step 3. Sew the corner Anchors in place. Step 4. Next stitch down the waves, the diamond borders. These borders remind me of waves on the sea. A while back I had these flowers on here, a friend wrote to me, they are Liatrus. Not the invasive plant at all. 4 August 2015 at 06:28. You are making good progress on your Love Entwined.

The Cheerful Chickadee: Lots of interesting tidbits.

http://www.cheerfulchickadee.blogspot.com/2015/07/lots-of-interesting-tidbits.html

Friday, 31 July 2015. Lots of interesting tidbits. The little grey book that goes everywhere. In it is snips of fabrics, lists of projects, notes. When I am out and about, it comes in handy when I find myself somewhere on the spur of the moment, it gets opened if I find a potential treasure to add to what I already have, when working on projects. This is a design from Rabbits Haven. A designer in British Columbia. More of the Quilt. Perfect for little girls. A close up of it. 31 July 2015 at 17:39. Lets ...

The Cheerful Chickadee: Paying it forward.

http://www.cheerfulchickadee.blogspot.com/2015/08/paying-it-forward.html

Tuesday, 4 August 2015. It is wonderful to know nothing goes to waste, when we put our minds to it. When natural disasters strike, we pitch in and help, not because we have to but we want to. Japan did not ask for the earthquake to happen, but it did. Today I received a gift from Glenda in Australia, the part that touched me the most, this clutch:. Fabrics from Japan, this is one time I looked at fabric and thought to myself, how can I use them without cutting them to much? They have a blue back ground.

The Cheerful Chickadee: May 2015

http://www.cheerfulchickadee.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 26 May 2015. Collecting all the clues, instructions. Next, making the templates, cereal boxes work well for large templates. Just trace shapes on freezer paper, using the pull out sheet in the magazine. Then iron onto cardboard. Cut out and the shapes are ready for use. The Heat and Bond Method:. 1 Place the Heat and Bond on top of the pull out pattern, with the paper side on top. 2 Trace on the paperside of the Heat and Bond. 4 Fused leave on background. This quilt was done in a medallion style...

The Cheerful Chickadee: April 2015

http://www.cheerfulchickadee.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Monday, 27 April 2015. We all need a break from those near and dear to us. Mine is going on retreat, doing what I like to do in my other life. Quilting, spending time with friends who love to do the same, all in their own unique way. The mighty St Laurens River? The projects, not mine:. Kate's amazing purple beauty. Margaret's second project, she seems to turn out quilts, at a speed. A newbie, with a passion. Mine, did finish one other small project. Had very important knitting to do, more to follow.

Cheerful Cheryl's Blog

Sunday, January 18, 2009. Where have my ruminations on elearning got to 18 months later. I have just completed a survey form for someone doing a Masters research project on what leadning educators say about trends in the use of eportfolios in teacher education. This has lead to me revisiting what had written here in 2007 and I realise how remiss I have been in keeping this blog up-to-date. Sunday, October 7, 2007. Ruminating on impact of technology on my students and myself as lecturer. George's reflecti...

The Cheerful Chickadee

Not only will these quilts spark your child's imagination and creativity but they are also made with high quality 100% cotton fabrics. Mass produced products just cannot achieve the same quality of the items I make. Lots of time and effort gets put into every Cheerful Chickadee creation. I also smock dresses for young girls, based on classic vintage designs. Head to my store or click Products to find out about everything else I make. Maggie does beautiful, meticulous work!
