Food and Conversation for Every Palate. 1 cup Short Grain Rice Blend. 2 cups Cold Water. 1 tablespoon Salted Butter. 188; cup Fresh Parsley, chopped. 189; cup Shredded Parmesan Cheese. Kosher and Pepper, to taste. In a heavy sauce pan combine rice, water, butter, salt, and pepper and bring to a boil. Mix well and reduce to a simmer. Cover and let cook for 40 minutes. For Sweet and Sour Sauce:. 4 ripe plum tomatoes, seeded. 2 ounces agave nectar. 1 tablespoon minced garlic. 1 teaspoon ground black pepper. Juice of 1 lime. 1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce. Place all ingredients into a food processor and blend for 30 seconds. Reserve. For Shrimp and Vegetables:. 1 pound large (16-20) count shrimp, peeled, cleaned, de-veined. 2 ounces bok choy, chopped. 2 ounces red onion, julienne.

Creamy Steel-Cut Oatmeal with Golden Raisins. 1/2 cup steel-cut oats. 1 1/2 cups hot water. 1/2 cup golden raisins. 1-2 teaspoons brown sugar. 1 tiny pinch nutmeg (optional). Heat butter in a small saucepan; add oats and toast them for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant. Stir in cinnamon and salt. Add hot water, stir, and bring to a brisk boil. Cover and turn down heat. Cook uncovered for another 5 minutes.
