Chef Doughty: Philosophy

https://www.chefdoughty.com/philosophy

Wouldn t it be great to walk into the kitchen, open the fridge and pantry and be able to cook up something using the ingredients on hand? That is a big thrill and one I would love to pass on. My whole kitchen philosophy centers around two principles. The first is that cooking should be product-driven and the second is you need to have a basic understanding of fundamental cooking techniques and food so you can spontaneously create your own dishes without relying on a recipe. Cooking, like anything else, i...

Chef Doughty: Food For Thought

Listen to the show. Visit the show's homepage. Is a two-minute food program that airs daily on public radio. And is now available on podcasts. What makes this program different from other food programs is that it is not recipe driven. Most of the shows on the food network center around recipes and then we watch people put those together and maybe along the way we pick up a tip or two. Will save you tons of time and money and help you have success right away. If you are not receiving Food For Thought.

This post should begin with a picture of the finished product but I forgot to take a picture when they came out of the oven and I really wanted to get this information in your hands before it was too late…so…try and envision these little bundles baked to a beautiful golden color. Quigley Cuisine: June 2009

Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Grilled Cheese Sandwich - Pizza Style. I just got back from girls camp where we had a gourmet chef preparing the food. Chef Doughty. Is the bomb, and is really inventive. She really wanted all the (picky) girls to like the food, so the meals we ate were often a twist on a classic favorite. Freakin' GOOD STUFF. For lunch one day, we had grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. Boring? Uh huh, and guess what else? So here it is for you. Sorry no pictures. Bread of your choice.

Wednesday, June 15, 2011. The Fluffiest Pancakes EVER! These are the yummiest fluffiest pancakes I've ever had. From my sister-in-law, Kira, who got the recipe from another sister-in-law, it's a recipe worth handing down! 1 tbsp baking powder. 2 tbsp (rounded) sour cream. 2 tbsp melted, cooled butter. Blend together with a whisk or in the blender until a pretty runny batter forms. Cook on skillet until golden brown and serve hot! They are seriously awesome! June 16, 2011 at 10:10 AM. Food for Thought: Southern Peach Cobbler

http://foodforthought10.blogspot.com/2011/08/southern-peach-cobbler.html

Friday, August 26, 2011. I subscribed to the local newspaper for the Sunday papers for couponing. It comes all the other days as well. In each newspaper, there's a recipe of the day! I happened upon this one a few days ago and made it last night. LOVE IT! Especially when my sister-in-law gives me free peaches from their peach tree! 8 fresh peaches-peeled, pitted and sliced into thin wedges. 1/4 cup white sugar. 1/4 cup brown sugar. 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon. 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg. 1 cup all-purpose flour.
