Sunday, October 23, 2011. I am lucky to live so close to such a beautiful state as Maine! I am entranced by the many islands, small coastal communities, and remote, rural living. I often fantasize about my husband and I living off the grid in a house surrounded by water like this couple. Maybe someday.) But a great thing about being so close to Maine is the opportunity to visit KnitWit Yarn Shop. In Portland and shop their selection of Quince and Co. yarns! I chose the colorway "gingerbread" to make Agnes.

I made two pies for thanksgiving dinner. Pecan pie was good but I think I need to. Work on apple pie recipe more. The day after thanksgiving we went for a easy hike and went back to trail cafe. Of course we ate more pies. Cranberry galette and ranger's pie were so good. After went home, I used the extra pie dough to make another apple pie. I just want to make more pies. Next time i want to make. This strawberry galette with basil cream. This pie crust recipe. Very easy to make and delicious. Those prints...

Farrell and Co.: : : : :. Wednesday, March 10, 2010. All you need is:. A deep stock pot with a heavy bottom. Small holed slotted spoon. Large metal bowl big enough to sit the strainer in it without touching the bottom. 1 gallon of whole homogenized milk (preferably raw whole milk). 3/4 c freshly squeezed lemon juice. A pinch of salt. Once all the liqued has drained, about an hour remove the cheese cloth and enjoy! Don't throw away the whey! You can reheat it and make REAL RICOTTA! Makes about 2 to 4 cups.
