Sara Soenen - The Middle East in the West. Monday, October 26, 2009. After reading the novel. I can really admit that I wasn't a big fan of the book. This may be because I missed out on the discussion on Tuesday, after reading other people blogs I thought that I missed a good class period! Sara Soenen - The Middle East in the West. Monday, October 26, 2009. I just finished watching Paradise Now, and again wow! This movie was very powerful, I almost cried haha. The movie was well done, and I think it would be extremely easy to show for a large group of students. Paradise Now would be an amazing way to actually get to the heart of the issue. Was a memoir of a man who had been treated the horribly by American soldiers, I thought I was going to be sick. The things that the poor guy went through were unbearable not to mention inhumane.
