Big Questions - Sorted Magazine. Posts from Jonathan Sherwin on experience. Personally Encountering the Resurrected Jesus. April 3, 2015. Mdash; Leave a comment. This week I have been writing on the “minimal facts” of the Resurrection for CVM. This approach to the evidence looks at the broadly accepted historical facts (attested to by Christian and sceptic scholars alike) and asks, ‘What is the simplest explanation for them? We love because he first loved us. The Minimal Facts of the Resurrection. The Re...

Fight for Joy: November 2010
http://adamjepson.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 10, 2010. Jesus Got What We Deserve. The one that still gets me (and it happens every day) goes something like this:. Me: "Hi, welcome to Chick-Fil-A! How may I serve you? Person: "Yes.I need a #4.". Sure, this food tastes really good, but does your life depend on this meal? You actually NEED it? Of course I smile and happily serve them their food and wish them a good rest of the day, but every time I hear someone say 'I need' while ordering, I am seriously amazed at the sense of enti...

Fight for Joy: July 2009
http://adamjepson.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 1, 2009. Love this song.love the lyrics. Story of my life. I'm sitting here with my computer, listening to Pandora Radio (one of my favorite things, especially my Train radio station) and checking my email for the first time in a few days. School is done, and I figured I'd blog since I haven't blogged in two months. Two months without a blog? Must mean two months without internet. The kids-on-a-rope continue in their hilarity:. Kid on a rope. Kid on a rope:. It was pretty funny, that kid ...

Fight for Joy: December 2010
http://adamjepson.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 5, 2010. These are the things I think about. I love watching people do things they are good at. Good actors, good comedians, good athletes, good singers, good preachers, good parents, good teachers.the list goes on. I get a lot of joy out of that. And when I think about the amount of time they spend practicing and getting better, it really amazes me. And then I think about myself. 10,000 hours.have I even done anything for a solid 10,000 hours? I can't imagine how God would use us. I onc...

Notes from a Blue Bike & Taking Time to Breathe. - Cheeky Baker

Notes from a Blue Bike and Taking Time to Breathe. As I start off some of these thoughtful posts, I like to imagine myself in the movie "Gladiator." There is a scene at the beginning, where the score is intense and subtle, and Russell Crow is taking determined steps through the field, gently skimming the tops of the grass with the palm of his hand. That may seem like an overstatement, but is it really? If I mention a book that I have read recently: "Oh, it must be nice to have time to read.". Believing t...

http://adamjepson.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 22, 2011. I needed a way to post this on facebook since it wouldn't let me post a document. But be disciplined and follow through. Run hard after Jesus this week! From now until Monday the 26th:. Prepare for the fast - cut out sugar and caffeine, and drink lots of water! Sugar crashes and caffeine headaches aren’t fun. Fruits and vegetables throughout the day. Drink lots of fluids! Water and juice, but nothing artificial and loaded with sugar. Fruits and vegetables only.

Fight for Joy: Say It Out Loud
http://adamjepson.blogspot.com/2011/03/say-it-out-loud.html
Saturday, March 5, 2011. Say It Out Loud. This is a game I've been playing the past couple weeks. The game is "Say It Out Loud," and it's quite simple. Basically, if you're in a situation and you don't know what to do, say it out loud. If you need to make a decision, say it out loud. Saying it out loud helps make sense of the pros and cons. Ryan, that's a terrible idea.". While we both agreed that it might be fun to sit and play video games and eat tons of food, I was surprised to hear him say it. Ry...
