A Blithe Spirit: Stitch Fix Box
http://ablithespirit.blogspot.com/2014/08/stitch-fix-box.html
Wednesday, August 20, 2014. I received my second Stitch Fix. PS if you want to try Stitch Fix would you mind signing up through this link. I would receive credit for the referral. Awesome! I love the color of the jean but they are a tad too tight for my comfort. I'm not sure what I think about the ankle length. Stylish for sure, though I personally feel like I had a summer growth spurt and now my jeans are too short. Mmmmmm not crazy about the top, although the floral is fun with the jeans. August 20, 20...

Thursday, August 8, 2013. This Week in My Garden. The bush beans are about finished producing, but the pole beans are growing more and more everyday. They should soon be ready for picking. I need to weed the front garden bed, collect my spinach seeds, and then plant kale for late fall harvest. Scott's watermelon is still alive but only has one tiny melon on a tiny vine. It does not appear to be thriving. I'm not sure why. We will see if it grows to an edible size by the time summer ends. We have ripped o...
A Blithe Spirit: April 2013
http://ablithespirit.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 28, 2013. The sun has been peeking out of the clouds the past few days allowing me to once again line dry diapers. It is wonderful to see the sun bleaching the stains out of the fabric. Small clumps of flowers have been blooming around the yard, and it has been quite fun finding the colorful surprises. I need to mark the flowers so I can replant them this fall in the beds I hope to clear this year. What if the deer decide to munch on my beans? Friday, April 26, 2013. And leave a link to you...

Friday, March 28, 2014. This moment} - A Friday ritual inspired by Soule Mamma. In her words: "A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember." If you're inspired to do the same, head over to her blog. And leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments for all to find and see. Thursday, March 27, 2014. Last week all I had go to waste was some spinach that hid in the bottom of the produce drawer. My lettuce...

Tuesday, May 28, 2013. After chipping the brush pile. Before chipping the brush pile. The garden is completely planted now and almost all of our support structures are built. I am trying some climbing french beans this year so Scott made me some lovely bean tepees from our surplus branches. I think the tepees are so pretty! I hate weeding, and watering the garden quickly reduces it's food cost savings. Friday, May 17, 2013. Warning} This post is picture heavy. Friday, May 3, 2013. In her words: "A single...

Just a bit about the adventures in our little kitchen. Sunday, May 23, 2010. Root Beer Batch 1.0. Lately I've been working on brewing root beer at home. Other people have made simple instructions involving a 2L pop bottle, but haven't calibrated their instruments, so I chose to use their method as a basic layout for mine. My end goal is to make a root beer with excellent taste on a small budget. The measurements are a bit antiquated, but I'll convert to metric later on. 1 tsp McCormick's Root Beer Extract.
