I was pleasantly surprised when I drove down Yulin Xi Jie 玉林 西街 where the infamous Guo Kui Bing 锅魁饼man parks his little cart. Chengdus & Don'ts: July 2008
http://chengdusanddonts.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
A blog about the ins and outs of living in a foreign country with a husband and two kids. Sunday, July 27, 2008. We had a great flight from Chengdu to Amsterdam on KLM. I highly recommend that flight! What a great way to get to Europe! And the inflight entertainment system sure makes that trip go by quickly. We also found a gem in a new hotel at the Schiphol Airport called citizenM. If you have to have a stop over in Amsterdam it is the perfect place to sleep! Thursday, July 24, 2008. On Our Way Again.

http://chengdusanddonts.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
A blog about the ins and outs of living in a foreign country with a husband and two kids. Wednesday, March 07, 2012. Today I tried a new recipe for. From my Avoca Salad cookbook. I had very little hope as I have tried so many times to make mayonnaise and it always turned out without luster. I have tried whole egg mayo, but it was just usable. Most of the time I couldn't get it to emulsify. Tonight though, success! The mayonnaise jarred and ready to go! Sunday, March 04, 2012. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Chengdus & Don'ts: Cupping
http://chengdusanddonts.blogspot.com/2012/03/cupping.html
A blog about the ins and outs of living in a foreign country with a husband and two kids. Sunday, March 04, 2012. I have lived in China for over 6 1/2 years and it took me that long to get the nerve up to have a cupping. Treatment or ba huo guan 跋火罐. Part of the reason that I did not think about doing this is because of the bruising it leaves on your back. The cupping causes blood vessels to expand at the surface of your skin and these are your results. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

One of the things that I have wanted to do this year was to try and eat at as many new Sichuan restaurants I can before the inevitable happens and I land myself back stateside. Thanks to a little motivation by Fuchsia Dunlop's recent visit and. I had just the motivation that I needed to hit the food trail. Oh well, next time. Cucumbers with a soy-hoisin sauce.
